I'm looking to swap my 05 Nisomo 3:36 gears to 3.69. First of all, anyone know if they are campatitble with lockers? (i would assume it would be since they would be from a manual Frontier) Second, is there any other place to get them besides a Nissan dealer? I have 33's and i'm looking to some of the power back and more since I'm still towing. I have been looking to get 4:10 but I don't know if I really need that much power. Thanks

KC Manual Nismo has 3.69's so that answers the compatibility question.

From someone who changed gearing.
The factory gears are too expensive.
After market 4:11 would be better , cheaper , easier to obtain.
I have front and rear but cannot recommend with others available.

rarely find just the gears. Typically you buy the whole axle assembly used and install that. Keep in mind with 4WD you will need both.

The 3.69 is the rarest axle around, and one of the most desirable (for the same reason you want one).

Whole axles are more expensive, but are easier to find. About the only time you will ever see a used set of 3.69 gears is if someone had a set and went with even more gear. But the extra expense does have benifits. You are not setting up gears, or more typically paying someone with the proper tools to setup your gears. It is now an easy axle swap.

I have both ring and pinions , front and rear.
I also have a whole 4 banger assembly with 3;69 gears .
Made a mistake and bought ,then realized it was for a banger.
Will sell but the carrier, ring and pinion is still in the diff.
Installed a a separate diff I bought.

The 3.69 uses a different carrier than the other gears, so you can not just buy a set of ring and pinions and install in your truck . The rear 3.69 is the harder axle to find. S see it on carparts.com though. Seems like a front 3.69 diff is fairly easy to come by. I bought a used one for about 300$.

get a Titan M205 and then you can put 3.73 gears in both Diffs. It is the closest to a return to stock with 33" tires that I know of.

The cost of putting anything less than 4;11 is a waste of money for just a slightly lower gear ratio.
You don’t need a 205.
The only reason to run a 205 is to go lower than 4;11.
You can go 4:11 with a r180.
