Nissan probably uses conventional 5W30 made by the lowest bidder put into bottles with Nissan on them. Nissan, as do most manufacturers, probably changes oil suppliers from time to time. I would say use synthetic if you wish, I use M1. Synthetic may be better for the engine and it definitely won't hurt.
Interestingly my '12 PRO 4X has never used any oil between changes. My '14 Honda Accord uses a little, usually about 1/2 quart between 10K mile oil changes.
