7k Is fine for synthetic for normal driving. 3.5k is just wasting money, IMO but I do understand the concern.
how can you be sure tho? im iffy on that 7K. maybe its just cuz im old school still using conventional and changing every 3K

7.5k is the generally agreed on mileage for full synthetic. I don't know the specifics but that's just what it is. I know there are a lot out there that still refuse to go past the old 3k though.
huh alright im not callin ya a liar or anything :) its just gunna be wierd getting used to not changing that often

Napa Brand Full synthetic and Napa Brand Gold Filter
usually change out around 4,000+ , we use our other vehicles alot, so it takes awhile to even hit that many miles, I grew up the "change your oil every 3g's" so I hear you could put more miles on before changing-but [email protected] it, wont change my day :)

Name: maybe the red rocket with the cool noise it makes with the upgrades, or rockey balboa because all the rounds we go through and keep on going:)

Whatever synthetic is on sale and whatever non-Fram filter I find. The minimum I go is 7,000 miles. Lot's of people push 12-15,000 miles on synthetic. Just depends if you feel like doing oil sampling or not. 7,000 is safe on any non-turbo engine made (assuming nothing is wrong with it)

I've only changed my oil once so far and used just normal Dino, but will probably switch to synthetic once I'm through the first couple of changes.

But, to the synthetic thing. We have been told for so long to change oil at 3K, everyone believes it. That may have been true in the 70's but not any more.
My wife has a VW passat. VW specifies 5K changes with either Dino or synthetic. However, the same exact engine is Europe is speced at 10K with full synthetic only.
I've always used Mobil 1 in that engine because it's a turbo and has a 180 degree normal operating temp.
I changed at 5K just for warranty reasons, but now that I'm out of warranty, I go 10K. No problems yet, but of course, you won't know until it's too late.

This engine actually had an oil cooler failure about 3 years ago and lost oil. My wife was smart enough to shut it down when the light came on, but the oil was very low at that point. I believe having the Mobil 1 made a difference, but again, you'll never really know.

M1 for the oil.
OEM filter for the oil filter. (helps with warranty if timing chain goes, one less thing for them to b!tch about)
Mothers/Meguirs/Eagle for the wax
RainX for the windows (All windows x2 and front/rear x3)
Offbrand RainX style washer fluid with bug remover (helps prolong time between RainX applications)
