Just throwing this out there. I kinda sounds like a playing card in the spokes of a bike. I wonder if a brake line or ABS line or something came loose and is rubbing on the inside of the tire, kinda like bouncing off the tire knobs or something?

That was my intial thought until I listened to it. I had a bad wheel bearing sound similar to that, but not as loud and throaty and defiantly no clunking with it.

I was thinking if the CV joint shattered, all of the teeth like parts would clash together like that.

Does it make that sound with it lifted off the ground and you spin the wheel by hand?

it got really loud over the last few weeks before I could turn and it would only do it sometimes now its all the time.I thought I blew something in the front dif but it was already making the noise the last time I went wheeling.
Wheres the best place to get replacement parts for the CV or do I have to go to the dealer and order the parts?

1. Remove wheel and tire
2. Remove rear engine under cover
3. Remove wheel sensor harness and disconnect wheel sensor
4. Remove wheel hub and bearing assembly
5. Separate upper ball joint
6. Remove drive shaft assembly (Note: pry using suitable tool)

Looks like a piece of cake to me, but I don't know your skill level.

Does the noise goes away when in 4x4?

I sent an axles out to rugged rocks a few years back for test fitting. If I can get it back it is yours.

I will try in the morning to see if it stops in 4x4 but I think its all the time now
wait, real slow an when turning. i could be wrong but i think it may be your bearings. not trying to cause any confrontation here. but the cv joints just stay in one place they dont pivot with the wheel when turning do they? and with the bearings i would think it would put more stress on them when turning causing the noise. and it doesnt make the noise when off the ground. so theres no sort of pressure on the bearings. causing it not to make a sound. now if it were a cv, wouldnt the noise still be heard and be way louder cuz its at a really bad angle?

i just want you to troubleshoot a lil man or somethin cuz i would hate to see you spend money on a good part and then have to spend more on bearings.

like i said im not trying to cause anything or say that im right.
hell i could be all wet too lol

CV joints do move when you turn, that's why there is a joint there otherwise the wheels couldn't turn. On a FWD car it sounds like popcorn when you make a turn. (Wait around in a Wal-Mart parking lot and you'll be sure to hear it on someones car.) The teeth on the joint are popping in and out of place. This being a truck that weighs more I would think the sound would be similar but deeper. Which is what this sounds like to me.

When the wheels are straight, the joint is straight and doesn't pop. It usually starts by only making noise when turning one direction and as it gets worse it will do it in both directions. As it continues to get worse, it starts to take less of a turn to make it pop.

I've changed a bunch of these on FWD cars, I've only recently been getting into 4x4 toys.

No offense taken, I defiantly think he should be checking it all out and not going strictly off advice from people off the internet.

ok so the noise isnt as bad in 4wd but it does still happen .I think its just because the fronts locked and you cant really turn as sharp and at a good speed without the wheel sorta hopping.I just need to find out where to get the CVs I dont see it on courtsey parts unless I just dont know what im looking for.I have never changed a CV on anything but im sure I can do it.My brother has a lift in his garage so thats not a problem.Hate to ask anyone to search for anything for me but im asking for your help this time..........Thanks
