What is behind the dash panel near heated seat switches?

I borrowed a couple of pics from the thread links above to show what I’m doing.

In the first pic below it looks like I’d have enough room to drill and hang a CB radio mount bracket. The screws wouldn’t need to go through more than 1/4 to 3/8 inch. This photo shows where someone has added rivets through in about the same depth as what I’d need. I put a red arrow to show where I’d need to drill. I want to hang a very small CB radio right below this panel. It is a President Bill II AM/FM CB radio. Just 4” square in size and 1” in height. It will hang in the open space between the console grab handles (if that’s what they’re called).



In the second pic I placed a red arrow indicating the spot where I want to add an RJ45 socket. Off to the side of the stock switches. It might fit without making any major modifications. I’ll have to see what I can find in terms of a socket. The RJ45 socket will be for a Midland MXT275 GMRS radio. The radio itself can be mounted anywhere, hidden away. The mic plugs into it with an RJ45 male plug but I want to run an extension from it instead and make a port on the dash where I can plug it in. All controls and display are in the mic itself. No need to reach the radio to change settings like I would with the CB. This will simplify things greatly. Otherwise I have to cram two radios into that space, which is doable because I’ve found some truly small radios in CB and GMRS, but GMRS radios usually have more wattage than CB’s and I’m thinking about heat dissipation problems with two stacked together.
