More wheel travel is EXACTLY what long travel means. 1-2 inches of droop and also enough the other way to damage the inner fenderwells. It has nothing to do with width. It may not be an extreme long travel set up but a couple inches is noticable. Have you ever had them on your truck?

There is a standard out there for what long travel is. your 9 inch of travel is not long travel it's still fall under stock travel. A titan swap with 3+ over and 12 inch of wheel travel is Mid travel and 5.5+ over and 15+ inches of wheel travel is long travel.

The guy is trying to sell his UCAs. Stop giving him a hard time about what is and isn't considered long travel. That is beside the point.
Total Chaos sells these as "Long Travel" so that's how he's selling them.

Have i ever had them on my truck...um.....yes ive got a FULL LONG TRAVEL set by total chaos on my GEN1. just cuz you got 2 more inches due to eliminating the ball joint doesnt mean you have "long travel". Long travel has nothing to do with width really where have you learned that. Ive been in the offroad industry for 6 years and thats one of the dumbest statements ive heard. It has all to do with width. So your saying that a truck thats 3+ over rides the same as a truck with stock width, and pulls the same travel #s..? damage to inner fender wells can happen to any truck even stock ones.
All im say is your selling "long travel arms" which is just a lift arm.

Just trying to figure it out. When I was a dumb highschool punk, clueless to all truck and things of off-road, I went into a local 4x4 shop with a bunch of cash to spend and told them I wanted to make my truck into a prerunner. They sold me a set of aftermarket UCAs and new shocks and springs, reamed me a new a-hole and sent me off with my awesome Long Travel set up. This was three years ago, I have since matured somewhat, began my BS in Mech. Engineering, working on my ASE certification and just learned a lot about trucks. Needless to say, my UCA Long Travel set up is long gone and I am now working towards a real Long Travel suspension.

THANK YOU for this thread. well after a huge debate and numbers of deleted post i would like to say that upper control are kits ARE NOT LONG TRAVEL KITS. I dont care who told you or where its been read but there not. Just cuz your truck drops out 2 more inches due to eliminating the ball joint doesnt give you "long travel". AHHH...there its done.

Oh and total chaos DOES NOT sell the UCA kit as LT. 4x4.com has it listed as a long travel upper but its not.

the TC hardbody and 1st gen kits they do call long travel. back in the 90s when they made them 12 inch was long travel. as kits have gotten better and better they have just never updated the text and with SLR out of business no one makes a kit that pulls better number then the 11 inch TC kits.

nicly put...with some cutting and carful thinking (shock angle) ive made my TC balljoint kit pull 14". But yes as mustard said kits now are pulling 17+ inches which puts the old TC kits to shame.

kits vary for maker. It all depends on what you want and how far you want to go. oh and you need deep pockets. i got mine for under 4k
