Love that Grille. Whats are the dimensions of the lettering. Height and width of the "N" and height and width of opening? Just curious if it's possible to fit "FRONTIER" lettering.
Here you go. Pardon the crappy "drawing" done on my laptop with my finger since my stylus battery is dead.

I don't see how "FRONTIER" would come close to fitting unless a much smaller or narrower font was used and then it wouldn't look very good, IMO.

Only thing left to figure out for the fuel carrier arm is locking the cans to the shelf or frame. I'm thinking about a thick steel cable that uses the holes on either side (barely visible in picture, on the white frame just below the black shelf) that's crimped in such a fashion that it's captive. Haven't decided for sure yet.

These are just harbor freight straps, supposedly rated to 330# each. I cut them down from their original 12' length to something reasonabale for this application and then used a lighter to heat the ends.

More here.

I've used HF straps for many many things and so far, have never had a failure. I have ladders on the roof tied down with them right now, and have tied off totes and other heavy objects in the bed with no issues at all. Now would I stand underneath one while something heavy was hanging from it and bet my life on it? No, but I can't think of anyone else's either that I'd do same.
Some HF stuff is for certain Chinesium garbage, but many of their tools and accessories are actually quite good and much more cost-effective.
I really like how that came out, not the flavour for me but if you need the bed free and need to carry three Jerry cans & a tire, this is a very nice solution. Kudos on a good build.

Yeah. If 330# is right at the yield-limit rather than the working load limit, then I'm close to 6X below that with a static full fuel can per strap, and even if forces upon the straps in a dynamic application are 3x more than the static load, I'm still 50% below. Normally a published working load limit is already built in with a factor of safety, so I do not expect any problems at all with the straps unless something abrades them.

I also figured out the locking system, found a "python" lock that clamps down on a cable pulled through it:

so basically it's done now. I may add some aux lights to the hitch underneath the arm, and I might add some reflective tape on the places where they stick out, but those are trivial things compared to building it.

Installed a set of CA Tune ditch mounts. I'm waiting for my order from Diode Dynamics, so I figured I should at least get the mounting hardware ready. Brackets fit well and are sturdy. No cutting of the plastic cowl was needed, like the SDHQ brand, as these lay flat and are angled to go under the hood without touching. I also liked that the mounting holes are solid all the way around vs. being notched. While the notched brackets would easily slide under the hood mounting nuts without complete removal, these obviously need the nuts to be completely removed. I like the added security IMO. Once the ditch lights come in, I'll take some pics of the complete install.

Replaced my old Hayes brake controller with a Redarc, used self-drilling screws to attach the box above the driver side kick panel and drilled out the switch blank for the knob as the one I got from Redarc doesn't fit, oh well. also replaced broken license plate lights with Z1 LEDs, and Z1 silicone PCV, breather, and brake booster hoses (and valves) to match my coolant hoses. maybe one day I'll catch up to Zero Six LE with all matching hoses. I figured out what about this photo was bothering me. I've never seen a parking garage with a suspended-grid ceiling before.
Yes, that is indeed weird.
