I have been toying with getting a cat back exhaust system and am not sure witch one to get. I dont want the truck to sound ricey!

Upload videos of your 4banger and we can see witch exhaust sounds better.

Dude. Once it stops raining here I plan on getting a better vid of my truck. I had a flowmaster 40 on mine and it was pretty loud and a little ricey pass like 4,000rpm. I liked it though. I also have DT headers, custom CAI, and 2.25 cat back piping. However, I ended up finding out I had a knock off flowmaster and then one of the pieces inside broke loose and it was rattling really bad. Now Im running the same setup but with a magnaflow muffler. I'll say I wasnt too happy when I first switched cause I couldn't barely hear the magnaflow. However, the magnaflow has started to break in now and is still getting louder. It also seems like it provides better flow. Also, the magnaflow will never be as loud as my flowmaster 40, but its getting louder and the sound is starting to come alive. In my comparison the flowmaster was a loud aggressive raspy and crackly sound with a lot of interior drone. I actually liked it that way though. Im starting to grow on the magnaflow though. It has barely any resonance in the cab so you often dont here it inside the cab unless you punch it or get in the high revs. It stills sounds good and louder when you here the truck drive by you. Its more of a low deep growl that im starting to like, not as obnoxious. Ive read it takes a while to break in and get louder though so thats why im waiting for a vid with the new magnaflow.

Here is a link to my performance thread. There is a few different videos from inside the cab, behind the truck, and of the intake, but their not that great. Also, they were taken right after I installed the headers and intake and my flowmaster was all screwed up and rattling and not sounding too good.

Anyways ill get some new better vids soon with the magnaflow after it breaks in some more.

did the magnaflow sound ricey?
It still sounds like a 4 banger with an exhaust and headers, but the flowmaster sounded way more ricey in the high revs. My magnaflow is starting to sound way better. Still not as loud idling, but when you punch it it sounds way better. A nice mellow deep growl. I need to get a vid up again so you guys can hear it. Im really starting to like it now.

yah i dont know i didnt like the magnaflow at first cause it was really quiet, but then it really broke in and got louder and better sounding. I liked my flowmaster too, but started to realize it wasnt the greatest with my setup and it did sound a little ricey. now when i step on it, it sounds like i got power, not just sounding like ive got a loud microphone or something if you know what i mean.

Alright guys I tried taking another video today, but man it just doesn't do it justice. It sounds pretty ricey in the video and when your inside the cab and the trucks in gear accelerating you can also hear the intake and the headers better and it just sounds way better. It doesnt sound the same when just revving it. I need to find a place around here to get a drive by. Anyways here it is.

Man i love a noisy truck. My wife keeps telling me to grow up. Wait till she gets in the Maxima after i have pulled the mufflers off one night. :censor: I will try to get a good clip of my hardbody. It has factory pre-cat and factory cat from there i have a 18" glasspack (2") to a short 90 that turns out under the frame rail in the recess for the spring mount. I have gotten several compliments on the way it sounds. It is super deep at idle and really gets down low when lugging it. Granted it will yell out too. The police love me.
