Thought this might make for interesting (if not entertaining) thread: What did you drive before you bought your Frontier?
As for me, a 2005 Honda CRV 2WD. Loved it. Very practical little vehicle for driving around town. Always got at least 22 mpg in town, and upwards to 30 if strictly highway driving.
Although the Frontier doesn't get those type of mpgs, I knew what I was buying when I bought it. Plus, I feel like I have some added testosterone now that I'm driving a truck!
Right before the frontier, I was driving an 89 240sx with almost 300,000 miles on it. I still got 30mpg on the freeway and over 20 around town, even though it hadn't passed smog in years. Loved that car. I bought it 10 years ago with 164,000 on it for $1,500 from a friend. Sold it a month ago for $1,000. I figure 140,000 miles for $500 ain't bad. All I ever had to do was maintenance, timing chain, and exhaust. Still ran like a top too, even ic the body and interior were beat. I would have kept it, but I don't have room for a third vehicle.
2002 Hyundai Elantra GLS. Bought new when I graduated college, replaced last April with 80K on it. Great car, no troubles, decent mileage, fun to drive with minor suspension upgrades (springs, struts, sway bar). Only got rid of it because I wanted a truck. It's now my father-in-law's commuter.
Had 3'' lift, roof rack, CAI, Custom bent exhaust and lights under the front bumper.
Finally let her go at about 190k. Ran strong, but kept shorting itself out. My harness was melting due to the overhating issues that plagues that year. Sold it to a buddy after i bought the frontier he had the time to take it apart and re wrap the entire harness.. ran strong untill he wrecked it, he was even able to drive it wercked to the yard.
Still miss it to this day, but got to move on right?
96 dodge dakota 2wd 6cyl 5sp. its was a fun truck. bought it broken for 300. fixed it and drove it for two years. then broke it and sold it for 300. good deal! when i registered it,the dmv told me i was the 12th person to register it. i guess that truck got around. i knew the 3 previous owners too.
Well......(still have the Mustang and Element in the stable)...
And yeah, every one has a story. Add in 25 Honda company cars and 30 motorcycles to round out the list.

I had an 05 dodge magnum. Actually kind of a cool car in my mind but couldn't haul anything. Also had a 93 jeep cherokee at the same time, 300k kms and never skipped a beat. Still see it around town, muddy as all hell and the guy always has a smile on his face.
@ Modshack. The dmv must love you when it's time to renew your plates!!

I wanted something bigger and allowed me to drive safely in the snow so i purchased a Frontier (crew cab, long bed, 4x4). I love the four doors and the extra space to place people and belongings.
I also had a jeep cherokee. Mine was a 99 with 3" lift. It was getting to expensive to keep fixing after my son was born and we wanted something that was more reliable.
I didn't think to list all of mine so, from first to most recent,
1966 Mustang coupe 289 2v auto wrecked and sold
1987 Dodge Daytona(I shifted it at 7000 until it blew, hated this car)
1965 Mustang coupe 351w auto(primered and ugly, but fast. 13 flat on street tires my first time out)sold when I moved to Cali
1989 240sx auto mentioned earlier
1967 Mustang coupe 289 4v 4 speed sold back to the original owner at 5 times what I paid for it
1968 Mustang coupe 5.0 5 speed in my avatar. Sitting in a storage unit in San Diego
1979 Chevy Van (black with graphics on Cragars)
1978 Chevy Malibu
1986 Mercury Cougar
1971 Chevelle (owned at the same time as the Cougar)
2001 Volvo S40
1972 Chevelle
2001 Volvo S40 (racecar) (owned 2 s40's and the chevelle, parted with the volvos to get into the frontier)
