Z1 fine tuning lift spacers
Z1 1” wheel spacers
Z1 rear differential breather kit
Removed “air deflectors” in front of rear wheels

 

Just spent the last hour under "Lilly" with 2 cans of fluid film, coating what I figured were the obvious spots.
2 cans went surprisingly far, keeping the straw on probably helped regulate the spray.
Can't say for sure I've gotten more on me....
BUT... I seem to have done a rather good job of keeping overspray off of the grass with my glasses, face and clothes.
I have forgotten how much fun rolling around in the grass truly is
I Still have 2 cans left for a second go, (in a few months) after I give the heady joy of accomplishment some time to pass.
I don't want to overdo it

 

Completed my interior black-out project by painting the trim rings in the door panels. Only things still orange are the stitches.

Also applied sound deadener to all four doors for that satisfying "Mercedes" thud when the doors shut. Not a lot of space in the doors but I wound up using 2.5 sheets per front door and two sheets for the back. I went with Resonix Iite which turns out to be a lot better than Roadkill or Dynomat. This product seems stickier, has no odor, and is cheaper than these other two.

All said and done, the truck is much quieter now and even the audio sounds better (big sigh). I am stunned by the lack of quality and performance of the Fender system but that's a story for another day.

How did you do this? I love my truck but the orange has to go. I was thinking of wrapping it in vinyl.

This thing from Etsy. It's 3D printed and the build quality is very good. Fits well and a little double sided tape makes it solid. A tad on the pricey side though.

 

Take the door card off (two screws; one at the latch and one at the handle) pull the card off starting at the bottom. Disconnect the power plug and two latch cables. Lay the door card inside up. The orange things are held on with three silver screws and then three clips. Take the screws off first and gently push the clips towards the center of the shape and the orange things will fall out.

I treated with acetone, black satin and two coats of satin clear. Wrapping is easier but I couldn't find a pattern I liked. I did one in matte carbon fiber and went to put it on only to see that the center space already has a carbon fiber pattern and the angles didn't match.

I also did the grab handles which, after you get over the idea that you have to take the whole center console out, was pretty easy.

Nissan has black and silver inserts but I don't have parts numbers and if you use our VIN, you get orange. My parts guy was of no help. So, black paint it is.

I always thought anything Orange or Piano Black which i actually like both especially the piano black would look stellar in Carbon Fiber.

Made a post about that organizer a couple weeks ago. Posted i'd sell mine for $30 Shipped (https://www.clubfrontier.org/posts/4262725/). He'd sold his 1st batch out and there wasn't any left. Used it for a day and just wasn't for me. It's cool tho. Again, if someone wants a deal hit me up - i used it for a day and put it back in the box - it's in perfect condition.

Look in that thread. Somebody saw that Organizer in my thread and made his own. I like the Etsy one better myself.

 

You're right, the one made by the forum guy is... the guy on Etsy says he's not selling on Amazon but that one looks identical to his and at the same price. So, like you said, he made a design that works and the Chinese copied it. So much stuff from Amazon is just crap.

 

Spent an hour at the local car wash cleaning off a bazillion pounds of Upper Michigan Clay/Mud off the truck and from underneath after spending two days wheeling around on the Keweenaw Peninsula. May need to crawl under it and remove the skids and take it back for more cleaning.

For the life of me I can't find these caps on the ADO website 🤣 Can you please post a link? I have their UCA's and these caps are a perfect accessory.

I was sitting still behind a school bus, about 40 yards to the rear.
The kids getting on Musta spooked them.
2 went around the front, one I think jumped the bed the last dimwit face planted my driver door.
Got up and stumbled off before I could slit its neck.
Got a small dent, deer face size.

I just got my new Bosch ICON wiper replacements yesterday (from Amazon) and they are not labeled as Asian Fit. Was I ripped off?!?

 

Should be fine, no promises.

 

Washed it and did a coating of SB3’s Money to bring out the shine.

 

Added wireless CarPlay.

 

What brand is that adapter? And how has the connectivity been? Thanks for sharing.

 

Added a few aftermarket items and still more to go.

 

Only used it for a day so far but I’ll check next time I’m using it.

 

Did the inside frontier lettering outlines. I miss aligned the F 2 times...oh well. The trick once I messed up the F was to use a razor blade to hold the graphic & then lay it down centered. MUCH easier to get it right.

 

Finally got some time to change a few things.......Turned off the back seat nanny feature......changed the key fob door unlock to open all the doors with one button push.

And took that silly sliding tie down track set up out of the bed. The four tie hooks in the bed are plenty......
