2003 CC with 3.3 V6 (not SC)

My alternator screams/whistles like a banshee. I've pulled all the other accessory belts to make sure that's what it is and also tried belt dressing to no avail.

I'm ready to just swap it out. It works OK - I've pulled the positive lead and the truck keeps on chugging away - but I just can't stand another drive-through window with this one.

So, to cut to the chase, if you were me, which alternator would you replace it with? I don't mind mail order if I have a recommendation, or I have access to Autozone, Advance Auto Parts and O'Reiley's here in KY.

I wouldn't mind having something with a bit more capacity. Since this one whines I can tell it's laboring when I flip on the headlights or use the power windows.

I'll also take "anti-recommendations" if you've tried a brand/model and found it stunk.

Ohio generator and Wrangler makes great alternators that car audio guys swear by. I'm not too sure if they make them for our trucks though.

I don't have any experience with them, but the Denso one looks nice.

not sure on the VG33s but I know a lot of the mini truck guys run an OME nissan quest alt little more juice also check 4x4parts.com they had a few options for the VG33s last I checked

a quest alternator will fit and I believe its an additional 20 or 30 amps.
do you need the additional? probably not, but your running it under less of a load so it should last longer in the electronics.
I would still go with the quest alternator. I have not had problems out of AZ parts personally.

See if it can be rebuilt. The is a shop here that will rebuild them for about or sometimes cheaper than new

The Quest alternator or a rebuild might make more sense. Would I need a particular year of the Quest alternator for fit?

If you have ever heard me talk trash about them I returned an altenator 10 times before I tossed it in the trash. I have never had this problem with O'Reilly's! Their stuff has been more than great. I found out Autozone sells reject parts.
