Howdy Nissan ,
I have a 92 d21 4x4, purchased two engines online, what a mistake! put the first on in , installed new timing chain, metal guides gears , new gaskets starter, alternator, plugs, erg valve all new emission controls ,new shocks, rebuilt whole transmission gears every thing in the tranny,throw-out bearing clutch ,pressure plate . Got the blank blank engine installed, started it up,drove it to dealer 100 miles she bit the dust. payed dealer to see what happened, scoped engine (bore scope ) tech stated metal shaving in eng. & it got hot too. Sent info to on-line co I purchased from the eng."the doc"asked for a picture of the heat tab. guess what it is located between the firewall and back of engine, which makes it almost impossible to get a picture of without pulling the whole thing out of the truck! anyway finally got a pic. of the tab. to make a long story real short I have the first engine still in the truck. have the other one on a motor stand in my shop. now I have to pull the whole sob out of the truck and hope the other engine is good.call me chuck I am stuck. but i ain' gonna quit. I pissed but not real mad yet! any one have some input on getting this thing back together ? Like I said I got the first engine in and figured that I would take it to the dealer and let them use their machine to see if the vacume, timing and whatever else a dealership could do to get my truck running. Help Mike ps the "doc" that sold me the engine could be called a quack as far as im concerned!
