These I got awhile back, but was too lazy to take pics until now...These are awesome! My friend has a pair about 8 years old, and they still look good. I got mine in smoke from Autobarn, http://www.autobarn.net/xxxweatherflector.html . Looks like they up'd the price a bit from when I bought it, but I would still do business again...fast and great service. They are in-channel, so no doublesided tape required! Definitely recommended!

I've seen these things all over the place, but never figured out exactly what they do.

What is their purpose?
Personally, I like it because it lets me open the windows even when it's raining (not all the way down, but still). It also helps to quiet the wind down both when the windows are up and down.

Like Kilago said, even my wife wants some for her car and she is not into mods on cars/trucks. She just shakes her head every time I buy something and then asks if
I'll ever run out of things to buy.

I really do like my Weatherflectors, as you can see from the photos they don't stick out
much at all.

Along the lines of what Kilago said...

The biggest reason I have always had them on my vehicles is that cracking the windows even 1/4" to 1/2" can make 30 degrees (F) difference when the car is parked out in the sun. I live is SE Texas and the interior can easily reach 130deg. or more. Leaving the windows cracked means climbing into a car that's, say, 100deg. instead of 130. These things give you peace of mind knowing that you're protected in case the unexpected rain shower decides to pop up (you know the old addage, "If you don't like the weather here, wait around for a couple of hours").

I didnt get the inchannel ones but the ones held on my 3m tape. They work fine being taped on. They really let me have the windows open about 2 inches (since they are bigger and stick out a bit futher). Its nice when its raining and the windows are getting fogged to be able to get outside air in (and not use theblower). I have the tendency to forget to put windows up and i did the last rain storm we had and these kept myseats from getting wet. Plus i like the look, they actually look like a nice mod (if put on right).

almost forgot, you can cruise at 75 down the high way with the windows open and have no more noise then if they were closed :D big plus there.

I have used the Weathertech ones on my previous explorer and they worked great. I want to put them on my 05 crewcab. I have found that Courtesy Parts sells a Nissan 4 pc set for less than others out on the web. The installation requires removal of a portion fo the weather seal. Are they better, and of greater quality than aftermarket deflectors? They also sell Stampede deflectors that cost more and nstall with 3M tape.

I am not sure of the big difference between the inchannel and tape ones. All I really know is that besides the cost, the inchannels need to have the weather stripping removed and placed back. (i didnt want to do this due to chance it wont go back perfect) and the ones held on with tape stand out further. here is an image of mine
from my car domain account. If they are cut right and positioned right, they can just blend in and you stop noticing them. I have also had them put through a car wash (pressure water only, i wont use the actual scrubbing ones) and they held on fine.

Actually, that's not true...the inchannels pop right in, at least for these weathertech ones. All you need to do is roll down the window. I have heard of some other inchannel brands being very loose, where it slips out, but these fit very well.

My Weatherflectors just popped in, no removal of weatherstripping at all. Well maybe I
shouldn't say just popped in as mine were a very tight fit and took quite a bit of force to bend enough to install. They are indeed a nice tight fit and I like the tucked in look over
the stick ons.

The down side to them is that they will not fit on a hardtop without a rear door post.
My wife wanted a pair, but her Solara has no post at the back of the door.

Weathertech pics

Did you compare the Weatherflectors with the AVS(Auto Vent Shade)? Auto stores in my area only sell AVS. A 4 pc set cost about $50, almost half of the Weathertech pcs
Would there be quality issue. Or would it be the look.

WeatherTech makes a quality product. I had to really exert a lot of pressure to get them to flex enough to go into place. I thought what if I break them installing them. They made it through the installation process just fine. I cannot imagine any circumstance where they would be put in a more adverse situation.

I have found that you usually get what you pay for and although I paid a little more for my Weatherflectors I feel they are definitely worth the price.
