So I use/used WeatherTech mats for many years now. Easy to clean, keeps inside cabin clean, and durable. But lately I was getting a little annoyed by the "slippery" feel of them in one of my vehicles. Maybe it was the seat/foot placement angle that made the mats more noticeable?? Either way, when I purchased my 22 P4X, it came with the OEM carpet mats (which look great, but I'm too lazy to clean them), and a set of OEM "all weather" P4X rubber type mats. The rubber mats feel really good, and have a good grip to them. However, they missed the mark with not fully covering, especially near the accelerator pedal

So I figured I had time before winter to get a better covering set, like WT. Saw MANY posts and suggestions here from the cheap on-line knock offs to fully covered leather type mats. I was about to order the Smartliner brand (similar to WT mats) as it was cheaper. Figured even if they only lasted a couple years it would still be worth it. But I happened upon the WT website about these HP versions. Looked similar to the regular mats they make, but made from a "softer" and "better" material?? Put my name on their "notify me" list a few months back. So I stuck with the OEM rubber mats until I received notification from WT a couple days ago they were available. Yesterday I took a road trip directly to the WT Factory Store in Illinois and bought them.

They look like the same ol WT mats as usual, which is still good, BUT...
they are made from similar material like the Nissan OEM all weather mats I've been driving with (y)
They have a better grip texture than the original "plasticy" feeling mats. It has a little more "cushion" or "rubbery" texture to them which is EXACTLY what I have been waiting for.

Price was $124.99 (US) for the two front mats. They do make a rear set as well, but I am good with the OEM ones in back.

These mats do cover the plastic interior rocker trim, and have "trim" markings on the back for those that have the lit panel accessory.
I also like that WT got rid of that stupid sticker on the sides and finally embossed their logo. I don't like their logo anywhere, but the sticker was so cheap and usually came off, leaving this stupid "rectangle" in the mats that looked out of place for my OCD. At least the new embossed logo doesn't stand out IMO.
They do feel more grippy and I was like a little kid on Christmas driving home last night :p
I highly recommend them. Pardon the salt on the new mats, but this was when I got home last night. I'm not worried as these will clean very easily when its time ;)

I have never been disappointed by a WeatherTech product.
I've never been either, I guess I just got a bit picky with my footing. I learned early on to avoid spraying a silicone or "armorall" type product on those to avoid slipping :ROFLMAO:
But these newer versions ARE much better in regards to grip IMO.

I have always used a set of aftermarket rubber mats on top of you OEM ones. Don't judge I know I should only run one mat. I wear the heel area out and then it leaks water onto the floor. At least onto the OE mat. I get maybe 20K out of a drivers mat. Recently wore out another one. Finally told myself that I was going to just suck it up and buy a weather tech. Only problem was I could only find the newer one that had the 2 anchor points and my truck is older and only has one. F it, and bought another cheap set (though these "motor trend" ones seem pretty nice).

Seeing your however makes me regret not spending the time and finding the correct ones. I have since found the 1 anchor version. THose look nice. The coverage is better than any of the generics can offer. Especially like how it covers the dead pedal and the has a lip the extends over the door still. That is where all the gunk goes.

Agree with you on all points (y)
That's why I posted this ASAP. I know others have the same OCD as we do, and need to "see it" for a better idea ;) But I highly recommend checking out a local "truck parts/accessory" store in your area if you need to "feel" the difference in material. I have a local shop that has samples of the new HP material so after I felt the material and physically saw it, I knew it was worth waiting for, for me ;)

Sometimes WT will make or modify the anchoring system to your specific vehicle. One of the reasons I went to the store directly as well. I don't mind using a different anchoring system, but I wanted to verify "how" it looked and anchored.

Been there on the doubling of mats for wear :ROFLMAO: Ever since going to WT, I have yet to wear thru. I have worn them to the point there is a faded/scuff mark from my heels, but no where near going thru. One of the other reasons I've gone back with them.

Same. The Good Year-branded universal all-weather floormats I got from Costco probably have a quarter million miles across several trucks in the last ten years or so I've had them. A little dirty and a couple cracks on the underside but still serviceable.

How soft and/or pliable are the HPs? I had Husky floor iners in my Honda and swore I'd never get molded floormats again. The Husky floor liners are a semi-rigid plastic and I scuffed the interior pretty good over the years while trying to maneuver the dang things in and out to wash them.

WT HP's are still rigid, but not "as" stiff as the regular mats they make. And definitely not as slick either. These are a bit more "moveable" and made from a softer "rubber" type material vs the harder plastic like the originals.

So picture the shape of the first RC brand, with the material of the second OEM brand.
I like the OEM brand for the softness/spongy and the grip, but doesn't protect as well. The RC and original WT ones cover great, but the plasticky material is a bit slippery, doable, but just sometimes to slick. WT HPs basically combined the two (y) which was exactly what I was looking for.

That is what I want better protection and less slip, no ice and snow here but better grip is always better. Do you have link where you purchased?

Or i can slide you $10 each and pay for shipping :)

I went directly to the WT factory store in Bolingbrook Illinois ;) But here's the link.

2022 Nissan Frontier FloorLiner High Performance Custom-Fit Floor Mats | WeatherTech

EDIT: Fyi, the HP's look the same as the "original", it's just the material is different. The originals are a harder plastic, where the HP's are slightly softer which gives a more comfortable "sure footing" in the foot well. And as mentioned before, they are trimmable if you have or decide to add the lit interior rocker panel plates ;) (y)

You do know there is a very good and easy fix to your dilemma
1) rip out all of your carpet
2) replace carpet with cheap 2 dollar rubber floor mats from Walmart
3) replace seat covers with vinyl seat covers from ebay lots of 70's rustic throw back stuff there for 10.99
4) replace shocks and springs with the oldest set found in junk yard to replicate old time ride quality
5) remove sway bars
6) modify doors and replace electric window regulators with manual regulators from gen1
7) same for power mirrors
8) rip out HU replace with push button AM/FM from ebay
9) remove front seats and cut up console replace with rear seats to replicate bench seat then cover with vinyl

after all that it may be easier to just buy old 70's beater and have fun with it. might even save a few pennies while you are at it.

although if i had the money i would get an old 68 chevy k-10 and create crew cab with it and make all of the creature comforts in it like today. just saying :)

I think I will stick with the lipstick on the pig, she rides real nice and comfy and all weather floor mats just make the carpet easier to clean ;)

funny but no i don't want the rest of the old trucks...well manual transfer case and tranny, locking hubs - bench seat in the front - i can dream.

i never complained about the ride or the power or the comfort compared to the old days. but carpet was a step back for trucks, it's just impossible to keep clean with the mud, dirt, snow, sand, and everything else that i constantly track in. carpet holds smells, it wears out quick, dries slowly, carpet just does not hold up well to hard use. even with the good wt mats i think it's a pain to clean.

Is there a difference between the 2022 & 2023 floor mats? Covercraft has the carpeted floor mats for the 2022 Frontier but not for the 2023. I did contact them by phone and she said they
have not verified the fit for the 2023 yet? Really?

Only dif is if it is CC or KC, and Fender system or not (if getting back mats). Should be same both years. Covercraft just hasn't verified it themselves 🤷‍♂️

Just thought of a way out of your predicament. When the weather is fowl, or you know you will get stuff all over your shoes/boots/feet. Just drive the wife's SUV. See problem solved no more junk messing up your truck carpet.
