I plan on purchasing a 31' RV and it wieghs 7300lbs. Now I dont plan to pull it all over the country. I just need to pull it about 450 miles, flat roads the whole way no hills. I figure if i go slow and dont use 6th gear it will be fine. Does anybody see how this could destroy my truck??? My truck is a 2006 SE KC V6 manual and LSD.

The rated towing capacity is 6500 lbs. and if for some reason something does happen, Nissan will probably deny your warranty claim for abuse. Remember, lots of factors go into a maximum towing capacity, i.e. transmission, brakes, and the weight of the truck being three of the biggest! If the added load burns up your clutch or transmission, you may be out of pocket the repair expense! More important is safety! Being able to stop that 7300 lbs. load from a speed of 65 mph in an emergency is critical, not to mention what happens when a 7300 load decides it want to choose which direction the truck is going in an emergency maneuver! Physics plays a major role in determining the load rating of a truck. If it where me, I wouldn't chance it. If you’re the thrill seeking type, go for it! But do me a favor and post your itinerary before you leave so I can stay out of your way! 8O

It dose not matter if the tailer has brakes or not. The frist thing that will fail is the brakes on our truck.

yeah i figured the warranty would be a problem if something did break, and i definetly dont want to trade for a titan. I'll just borrow my friend's Duramax, I know it could pull it.
I if I do pull it with my truck I'll take some pictures of the crash. Thanks again for the feedback.

That sound like a really good idea! Aren't the Duramax rated to like 9500 lbs? You probably won't know it's back there! That truck is definetly better equiped for the task! Good luck on your trip, and have a great time, especially now that you won't have the stress of wondering whether or not your truck will survive the trip!

i also say no

do not tow close or at max do not load a camper that will put you over load

i know people do ot all the time, in a colision an attorney will eat you up

i towed a 9000 lb trailer toy hauler with a 93 dodge dually diesel

and it still was not fun, power was not the issue, it was the ride and handling

i never thought the trailer was in charge my truck wt was 7500

still under trailer wt, but all in all i sold the trailer a hasle to hook up

and plan to sell the truck too

ive seen overloaded trailers push f 150 's off the road
