Will the newer alternators be a direct swap for older 2nd gens, 2007 in particular?

I'm looking for a higher output alternator to replace my 110 amp. I can't spend $400+ for the super nice ones.

On the 2007 Pathfinder LE, SE and SE/OR models (VQ40DE), they used a 130A alternator. The S model used a 110A model. Only difference I see is that the 130A has a 9:30 clock position and the 110A has a 10:00 clock position, but I don't think that would be much of an issue. A Nissan reman 130A is Nissan P/N 23M10-EA20ARW and CourtesyParts.com sells it for $262.50 (I believe there is a $75 core charge and you would have to send them back your old one to get that back). Now, I'm not a big fan of aftermarket alternators, but Rockauto.com has a new TYC 130A alternator (#211165) for $140+shipping (no core) and a reman REMY 130A (#12697) for $93+shipping and a $70 core charge; REMY is what was part of Delco-Remy back before they split up. If you have an auto electric shop or specialist near you that rebuilds alternators, they could rebuild your original alternator with more windings to increase the amperage.
