So im fixing yet another VG33 for a friend , he had some shop rip hom off by the amount of 2000$ for fixing his ride , 3 AFM's and a set of "recon"injectors later he towed it to me , funny that the origanal AFM is still perfect , the injector seals are torn to pieces and there aint no "recon"injectors fitted

After fixing all his stuff ups i found the no 2 cyl to be bad - injector has huge leak through and the other ones when you eyeball the spraypattern form drops every now and then - could be caused by low pressure because of the bad injector ?

Question is - is it worth the effort of sending these in for a so called "recon"? or do i just look for a used set as new ones are unaffordable form the dealer

As for the shop that ripped hom off i have only this to say - :censor:

It'll be cheaper to have those injectors inspected/cleaned by a reputable shop. Even if you bought used injectors, they may still need to be cleaned. Cleaning them usually costs about $20-25 per injector. Your friend should also see if that shop will warranty those recon'd injectors since apparently they are bad.

Exactly where would we find ourselves without the graces of incompetence to show us how easy it is to accomplish nothing.

ok guys the bad part is we live in South Africa so injectors aint 125$ or any such option here , we can litterally buy used engines for cheaper than buying injectors from the dealer

As for the warranty - here we have 3 kinds of workshops that do work , the dealerships that you cant afford and i must say the level of technician in most dealerships here is uhmmm .................

The second type is the passionate and honest privatly owned shop run by a specialist that uses good parts and service and warantee is part of it

And then the ******** who own shops that shouldtnt even work on shopping carts - this specific shop seems to be one of those - my friend was charged for recon injectors , the original ones are still in the car , the shop refuses to look at the car again , refuses to refund and also refuses to show any proof that he actually had the injectors reconed - luckilly we dont really have laws against such service but im sure my size 16 boot with my 365lbs behind it aimed at his nuts might get us the answers when i go pass there ths week

Not sure about Nissan but on some Fords from the 90's the injectors could be dissassembled, cleaned and re-assembled on the bench. Clean all of the parts with parts cleaner and be sure you note the orientation and order of assembly. Sounds like you have nothing to lose. Injectors should not drip fuel.

Ok so i had time to see whats up with the injectors today - VG30 injectors are larger in dia so they dont for the VG33 fuel rail , and the fuel rail is different so without moving some stuff it wont fit the VG33 manifold and besides if you had do go down so much on all of thoe injectors you might be better off walking after all that power loss , will look fo ra set of VG33 ones this week
