I've made a couple of attachments to my utilitrack over the past few weeks. I've made 2 kayak racks that slide right into the bed rails, I didn't feel like finding the other cross member to my roof rack and I don't want to lift the boats that high. They fit in nice and secure and don't bounce around a lot.

Next was a fishing pole holder. A little different from the usual ones, as I want to use it with the kayaks in place. For now it's a single pole holder, but I plan to upgrade it to hold 3 total.

If anyone wants more details on plans or hardware and how to do it, I'd be more than happy to share.

It is aluminum, 1/8" thick bar from Home Depot. I didn't weld it as I don't have a welder. I used a spring nut with a tapped hole for a 1/4" bolt.

I'll be getting a welder soon, so my add on might be welded to that.

I am looking to do the same thing for when I may not want to use a trailer to transport my kayak(s). Would it be possible to get some pictures without the kayak loaded? Specifically how the J-Cradles attach to the bar.

Also, are there any improvements that you find could be made after using it?

I bolted the j cradles straight to the bar. I had to do some grinding to get everything to work out.

The only improvement I could see making is putting a rubber foot or something similar under the rear one so it doesn't mark up my tailgate liner too badly. I use a block of wood now and that works just fine.
