So nothing really special. But I threw some utilitrac rails on my trailer. It will make it easier to haul stuff as there wasn't very much in the area of tie down points before hand. But that, and the fact that I have an extra set of cleats should mean I have a pretty nice additional "bed space" setup for hauling if the short bed prove not quite enough. Although I will say, in the 5 years I've had the truck I have only once or twice ran into that situation.

Anyway, that's it.

Very cool idea. Are the utili-track rails from your bed or did you find some used ones?

Found some used ones for $112. I acutally have the full set, just didn't need all of the rails for this particular trailer. Down the road when I get a bigger trailer I'll end up mounting the full set.

Has anyone else done something like this with the utili-trac? Or something outside the bed of their truck in general?

Slick...nice work.

I had a Jeep (just sold it yesterday) before I got my Frontier and was looking into getting a trailer. When I was in the thick of my trailer researching I figured I'd buy some e-track and the D-ring clips to fit in it....pretty inexpensive compared to the Utili-trac system:

Trailer Parts Superstore - E-Track Strips, Straps & Parts

They sell an aluminum "super track" kit on there for $90 that seems very comparable to the utili-trac system.

Yeah the main reason I opted for the utili-trac rails was because I have 2 sets of cleats already. So I wanted to be able to use them with the trailer as well.

cool idea. I have various d-hooks, and eye hooks on my trailer, yet there are times I'm still scratching my head on how to tie something down properly without using 40 feet of straps. too bad Nissans are rare around here let alone finding one in a bone yard where I could snag a set of the tracks.

Yeah I've been wanting to do this for at least a year. I suggest cheking i on the forum for the occasional FS post. That's where I got mine. Only $112 with shipping.
