I my dog was super stressed out on a recent trip, and decided that she needed to pee on my seat, probably a day to day and a half worth of pee, she refused to go anywhere else for some reason and decided to go when i left her for a minute, but anyways, i need to get that seat taken apart and cleaned since it reeks. Anyone know how to remove the upholstery, padding, etc? Also is it possible to swap the passenger and driver seats temporarily? I am sure removal of the seat is straighforward.

Thanks!

What type of dog do you have lol? Mine would have been in the bed on a blanket.
Also, what year/model are we talking about?

I would remove the seat from the truck and see if you can take off the covering and throw it in the washing machine. If you can't see how to remove the cover, then take it to an upholstery shop. That's my 2 cents worth.

Unfortunately pet urine odors are VERY difficult to impossible to eliminate. You may need to buy a new seat cover and foam base to start nice and fresh. I don't see this as a wash and dry and all is well ending. Hope I'm wrong.

Thinking there is a 90% probability that you can't just swap passenger to driver side and vice versa.

Take it to a detail guy and have him shampoo the upholstery. Just don't cheap out and do only the stink seat. Reason being the same as why one should always dry clean an entire suit. Only do part, risk some dreadful color difference.

ymmv

Or, go the Seinfeld route and sell the truck.

It's the foam more than the cover that will stink.

I do not disagree, however a pro detailer should be able to handle it if he is told that it is urine.

He might also know how to disassemble seat for more cleaning.

I am not talking a $20 fix, it's gonna cost some $$.

For that thought of dollar cost it might be more cost effective to replace the cover and foam and he'd be guarenteed that there wouldn't be a smell.
My brother in law left a window open in his Range Rover and his cat jumped into it and peed on the seat. The smell could not be removed and he replaced the seat.
It costs less to do it right the first time.

you may be able to get rid of smell - you'll need to chemically alter - I don't know recipe now, but I believe it is hydrogen peroxide and baking soda - used it to eliminate skunk on my dog - worked completely. Search internet and sure you can find recipe - but peroxide will probably remove color from seat - also there is some stuff made that smells like bubble gum that is great for cat and dog piss, but will smell like bubble gum then - best bet is probably as in above post, replace foam if piss soaked way in, but bet you can clean upholstery and re-use.

white vinegar mixed with a little water. then use a foam upholstery cleaner to clean the whole seat.
That could work but MUST soak in as far as the pee did to neutralize it, so I think the seat needs to be taken apart. Now if it's disassembled that would be the time to replace it.
Can you imagine going to all that trouble to find out there is still an odor and then do it all over again?

Oh well, wont get a chance to try anything until Saturday. Just another thing to add to the list of problems. This same weekend my diff lock light started flashing and the ABS and SLIP lights came on solid, and the timing chain whine is coming back again.

Alrite so one night I was at a party and my buddy went to get something out of my truck. Well he uked all over my passenger seat. So the next day i see him by my truck and see that hes attempting to clean it up(I was pissed). So we went to walmart got some super duper high strength carpet cleaner. Scrubbed the sh*t out of the Seat and then vaccumed it out, repeated a couple times and it was golden. Uke smells alot worse then piss and usually never seems like it comes out but it worked. So its a thought, and the carpet cleaner had scrub bristles that were money.
