I wonder if any of this work will actually be effective, given that the truck is already eleven years old. If the rust has already started on major structural parts, how is any surface treatment going to help? I fought rust on my old Nissan pickup, and the rust won. And that fight was far more intensive than the surface treatment that you're proposing. Unless you're going to totally cut out and replace metal, you're not going to stop the rust. You may slow it by a few months, but that's about it.
