First I must apologize for not visiting here as often as I should (last visit was in Feb) but I am a busy fella what with 4 motorcycles too that I try to keep current on.

I have a buddy with a Ridgeline that has a Burtman LED light bar under his tailgate and was wondering if there are any lightbars like that that do not interfere with the hole provided to let the spare tire down and if not is there a way to get a Burtman or another brand and mod it ?

Thankx in advance

I too have considered those lights on occasion but the hole creates an issue as you already know. The other thing is there is spray on liner material there and I believe the lights are taped in place. One day I will look into it more...

The only thing I can think is that you could get 2 shorter light bars and mount one on each side. I don't hink the correct length bars are on the market thou.

I have also heard of people cutting down the light bar to fit so you could always get the smallest one and mod it to fit.

I would imagine the easiest route to go thou is to e-mail burtman or another company with your concerns and ideas and see if they would be willing to work with you to make one that works for our application. Make sure you mention that the 2nd gen frontier has been here since 05 and now the equator is in the works and possibly the titan uses the same set-up.

When I was first interested I emailed Burtman several months ago abt my concern with that and I wish I had kept that reply but it was something like " how many times are you going to have to remove the spare"

But you have a valid point in mentioning that the 2nd gen has been around awhile now and perhaps I can email them back and see if there is some kind of workaround now

I have an 06 with factory spray on bedliner and added a RECON (from truckcustomizers.com) line of fire. I need to lower mine, I kind of screwed up on the mounting. Right now its level with the tailgate and you can only see the light the LEDs put out, but not the LEDS themselves. I don't like it where it is. Just waiting to see if I'm putting a body lift on or not and getting a new rear bumper in the future before I move it down.

I ordered the 60" version. The space underneath the tailgate measures 59". I figured it's better to have it an inch too long and simply cut it to fit then to have it 10" too short and look like crap. You can also shave a hole where the spare tire goes if you need to. Dremels work magic.

Here's the only pic I have where you can actually see it:

Like I said, it's too high up right now. I'll try and take a pic in the dark with it on tonight if my camera decides to work with me.

Here's some night pics: bad quality since it was sleeting out. First pic is standing at normal height, about 6ft away. 2nd pic is an angle from below looking up.

I have a 49" bar with the plastic bed liner. It does cover the whole some, but not enough to where I wouldn't be able to access it. I like the bar, just kind of wish I had spent more and gotten a better one that doesn't fog up. Even my dad who doesn't like to mod anything, liked it and wanted one for his equinox.
