I am in the process of buying 3'' spacers and 1 1/2'' shackles from Andy at All Day Fab and would really like to do the UCA's while everything is apart. Problem is I dont want to spend $600 on them. Does anybody know of a cheaper set?? I know TC makes them but i wasnt sure how much they are. Im not going to be doing any serious off-roading, just want it to look better.

Also i was told that with using the 1 1/2'' shackles i may need to put in some pinion shims. Anybody know anything about that?? Will I need these?? thank you

Calmini just came out with their control arm 2 months ago and it is only $489.95
D40 Upper Arms

You can get Total Chaos upper control arm for 590.00 from PreRunner Parts.
Prerunnerparts - Services

Now why in the do you want to install control arm? Because you are installing spacer lift?
Why not guess get a OME lift, Bilstein adjustable shocks, or coilovers? They are going to coast about the same or less then a spacer lift plus an after-market UCA.

I just want enough to where i could clear 285's. I dont do much offroading, just want it to look better. I figuire after all said and done i should only have a little over $600 in to it. $120 for spacers and shackles and $500 for arms. I want the arms beacause i really dont want the coil bucket contact noise, that would drive me crazy!!! I dont know much about this suspension stuff so if there is a better way to do it for close to the same price i would be more than willing to do it that way.

For a bit more money than the $600 you could do a CST spindle and get 4" out of it and have no coil bucket issues and still be able to align it, where as with the ADF lift, which I just took off would not allow for enough camber adjustment even with the cam bolts. The UCA would make up for the camber but the spindle seems so much easier.

BTW, I have 295 70 17's on mine with about 5.5 inch of lift in the front and 4" in the rear, still a slight rub. Coil buckets have all the room in the world!

Will be selling the ADF lift and I somehow have a second set of bilstein ride height adjustable shocks that I dont need either.

I agree the noise is annoying I have a set of the calminis uca s on the way. I lkie them cause they use an actual greasable ball joint which holds up better to the elements

if you dont wheel much and you dont want to spend the money on arms, i would just try the spacers for awhile and see if the contact noise annoys you enough to spend the extra money. i had 3" spacers and 285s for awhile before i bought coils and arms

I appreciate all the input guys! I wish I could do spindles, but unfortunately I do have a
4x4 and wouldnt get very far without one!!! I think I will just try the spacers first and see how much noise it does make. Im pretty picky when it comes to that kind of stuff so im sure i will end up doing the arms. Thanks for all the help. Ill let ya know what I come up with!

Get the bilstein ride height adjustable shocks. I think the snocks are under $300 and you get no coil bucket contact.

I've heard that the Bilstein adjustables ride pretty rough when adjusted all the way up. Wouldnt you still get UCA contact with those and the stock UCA?

To OP, have you considered running just a 2" lift (spacer / OME struts & springs, etc) and a 265/75/16? Its a little bigger than stock (unless your Nismo) and looks good. Bear in mind that gas mileage for me at least dropped when going with the 265/75/16. I think once you go to a 285 it will really kill it. Just something to think about if your mainly street driven.

I have actually thought about that. Im either going to go with this option or just save up and do the UCA's. I dont know which one yet. Probably just save up. Im that guy who will be mad and regret not going bigger and doing the UCA's so I figuire I should probably just do it the 1st time and save myself a little money.

The Bilsteins to me ride about the same as the stock bilsteins, I read about the harshness and even Greg @ PRG said that they may me to stiff but i kinda feel like that is not the case.

I did the spacer thing at first and it was OK but that didnt last too long, I just went ahead and bought everything at once and did the install and now I am happy. i got the spacers from Andy @ ADF (all day fab - ebay) so it wasnt like I wasted that much money. It was all right but just not enough.

I went with a 295/70/17 and my gas mileage now is horrible!
