got me home. also the brakes went out so i idled home...btw this is a '89 suburban.

exactly what i would have done with my recovery straps though, hahaha. good ingenuity.

Haha, quality, just leave 'em there, you can make the orange a common theme for your truck, it'll match the interior lights

god i love this site. you guys are so much cooler than the people on the GM site. where they are all like "wtf, why would you do that" ya'll are like " awesome job" and stuff lol. so glad im a member of this site for my frontier. good non-biased folks.

look at it like this.
the gm owner would have just hit the blue button on their mirror and waited for someone else to come fix their truck.
Nissan owners will patch it to limp home and fix it properly...

haha, well my '89 burban, however GM it may be, has no little blue button of the like. =)

How far did you travel like that?

Hopefully back roads, as this was not at all safe for you or any one around you!!

i only had to travel about 3/4 of a mile. and it was sunday so roads were empty for the most part. and as for speed i never took her passed an idle except going up hill just enuf to move.:noworries:

Good work. The only thing I might have done differently is see if I could somehow put a strap around the nose of the differential and strap that to the frame somehow to keep it from rotating forward/back...

How'd you get the straps tight?

How'd you get the straps tight?
they are ratchet straps i put the hooks through the U-bolt mounting holes, ratcheted them down and then wrapped and tied the excess.
