I have a 2015 Frontier and I am trying to turn the radio off using the steering wheel controls. I can turn the radio on and make all
station and volume adjustments. But I can't figure out how to turn the radio off. The owners manual says I can turn radio on and off using steering controls. Have seen you tube vids but they all show radio being turned on and not off.

Well, I've got a 2013 and while the stereo may differ slightly I honestly didn't need to read the owners manual to operate it. It may help you to know that you can push the volume knob for power. It acts as a power button, but Nissan put PWR on it, in case the abbreviation has you confused, It's maybe 12 inches away from the steering wheel, on the left face of the radio. If I am in a drive through or some situation where I need silence I push the PWR button and immediately it is silenced. FWIW you can also adjust the volume and the stations, Band, and other similar functions from all the buttons on the radio as well. Your results may vary depending on the stereo model.

On a serious note now though, I've never known there to be a function in the steering wheel controls to turn it off but if you do have it off and flip any of the steering wheel switches mine automatically turns the stereo right back on where you left it so maybe that is what the manual means in reference to it acting as a power switch.

And I apologize, I couldn't resist the urge to be sassy... All in good fun my friend, lol.

I knew when I posted this question that I was begging to be ridiculed and thought of as a dumb ***.
But hey, at least you replied. I honestly do understand the radio functions. But I have a mental condition and this anal retentive personality that can throw me into fits of rage where I lose control and just smash things. I would hate like hell to trash my truck radio. So in my mind I figure if I can turn it on at the steering wheel. Why can't I turn it off there too!!
Just pisses me off when I think about it. So I was just trying to prevent carnage at some point by asking this question.

Lol I too was hoping for steering wheel power or mute button.

I know the frustration of not finding something you think should be there. I was looking for the dimmer switch for two months. I finally found it.

I figured you would take it in stride. It did pose the idea to look more closely to be honest, I just have not had a chance yet. Was driving to look at a house this morning and had a chance to fiddle with it some and it definitely does nothing to power down but if off the wheel controls will activate it wherever you left it. The closest I came to anything that resembles power down is switching to Aux or CD with no cd in or nothing in the aux in.

Where's the fun in that?

Having been using up to 16 or more rentals per year I can tell ya that there are some cars out there that are downright easy and then there are cars that are no fun at all figuring out when it's dark...
