I'm in...Stillen is too slow for me, they have been promising a Supercharger for the past year. I think I would like a turbo more anyway.

joe:

Thanks for the post on the forum. Demand is a determining factor on our decision to offer systems for different vehicles. I'm a huge fan of the Titans and would like to see us offer a turbo system as well. Available tuning is also an important of every turbo system. Every GM kit we sell (like the Silverado and Corvette) have PCM's that we can tune using a flash programmer like Diablosport. Custom tuning will be our biggest obstacle with the new 5.6 Nissan motor. If your forum would like to see a remote turbo system for the Titan, any information you can provide me with regarding tuning capabilities would help dramatically. When I say tuning, I mean the ability to change the timing and fuel delivery, as well as make adjustments to engine safety systems. Stillen might be a good place to start. How are they tuning their supercharger kits? We're begining work on the new Corvettes in January and plan to start on the 350Z after that. Nothing has been scheduled for R&D beyond that. Let me know what you can come up with. I know I'm throwing some work your forums way, but it's difficult for us be experts on every car and engine. Our systems work incredibly well and would be a great match for Nissan's new V8.

evidently all they read was the titan part and didn't even comment on the frontier. i'm tellin' you the new 4.0 motor is the best V6 on the market why not go for it? soon they will see how badass our frontys are and change their ways. so i guess we have to figure out the ecu and pcm's. dose anybody do the flash for our ecu?

Unless it's a new catalog....(not the one with the Titan and Frontier "beefup")
I have called them almost every other month for the past year when the said it would be out by last summer. Don't get me wrong I really like Stillen products but they would give me a new/phony release date everytime I called. If it is out I guess I will call one more time but I will not get my hopes up.[/quote]

It may bolt on but getting it to run or even run properly is a different story. Even though the 4.0 and the 3.5 share are first cousins they are in a since tuned vastly different.

STS e-mailed again. joe

You may have contacted us in the past regarding a turbo system for your vehicle, only to find that we didn't offer a bolt on system for you particular vehicle. You may have run into the same problem with other companies offering forced induction options for your vehicle(or not offering anything at all). Squires Turbo Systems might have another way for you to get your vehicles engine turbocharged. Although it's never been "officially" on our price sheet, we carry what we call a universal system that comes with everything but the needed plumbing and tuning. The universal systems we carry and sell can come with a number of different turbos, up to the Garrett 60-1 that comes standard on our Camaros and Trans Ams. The universal kit comes with the following items:
Garrett Turbo(sized according to your application)
Tial 38 mm Wastegate
STS oil pump with standard pressure alarms
All return and supply oil lines
STS wiring harness to operate oiling system with alarms and PCV system
PCV pressure switch and switch Valve system
Flanges for turbo attachment
Air Filter
STS instruction manual

I can add much of the needed silicone couplers and clamps for about $75 on top of the system. The universal system normally sells for $3150,but I've been able to offer discounted pricing to people that documented their install with pictures for our records.

I also have access to used universal kits that would sell for much less than a new. These used systems seem to go quickly, so let me know if you're interested as soon as possible.

Superchips in the past has been willing to work new vehicles. They offer a free tuner for someone willing to loan there vehicle for about a week while they develope something. I recall them being in Florida so, if there is an owner in the area.... :D

well i wonder if you can control the fuel with a safc2 or the new safc neo. thats the way i did it on my eclipse i pulled my stock 450cc injectors and put fic 650's and tuned according to my aem wideband setup. i had to do -20% fuel at idle and about -35% on the top end. this was on a about 27lbs of boost on a mitsu big16g, and i had no problems with leaning out at all.

I met a guy at my work today that works for Wolfe racing. They started out as a 300zx specialist but from what he told me they use some software from japan to reflash the nissan computers old and new. Afraid I don't know much more than that though.

I got this same email a few days ago, only from one of the other reps. I've been working back and forth with him for a while. Still no kit for the Frontier yet, although I let him know there is a market for it. However, he's been working with me on pricing and such for the universal kit...

SOOOOOOOOO - Question: Should I scrap my plans for the killer stereo I wanted and be the guinea pig for this turbo system? Or should I continue to wait it out until they get a kit made up for our truck and instead become a mobile nuisance? I can't decide because they both would rock!

If I were you, I'd offer my truck, so as to expedite the process. Plus, I hear that they offer $500 dollars of a system if you loan your vehicle. In the end though, it's really just up to you.
