i tried to dove tail the bed and i pretty much screwed it up , so i junked the bed and here is what ive got done so far

everything is just tacked in so i can figure out the lines , then i will probably straighten everything out , work out the bed situation and get the cage powdercoated except the end so i an weld it to the frame

Nice job Aaron. What're the specs on the pipe you're using?

Swapped out the rear Toyota axle for a Ford 9" and it's a bit wider than our front was even with spacers. So we are doing a High Pinion D44 up front.

Are you putting bedsides on it?

^ edit... I see the space for the tailights now.
ill probably have a shop do a piece of sheet metal with dimple die and then ill box it in and use round LED
then in between the bottom bar and the bar above it ill box it in like i did the front bumper

there will be sheet metal in between the tubes but not over them

then above the 2nd tube will be an L shape shelf with black diamond plate , the actual bed will be made out of the same diamond plate and the tire mount will probably be centered in the back

nows the time to do some creative storage. Tools, recovery, ice chest, fuel cell etc... Go look at what some of those companies build for replacement truck beds for ideas... Latches, doors, slide outs. And use aluminum diamond plate when possible cause it wont rust(not like thats much of an issue in AZ) and is lightweight.
