Has anyone ever swapped a newer transmission into their Frontier? I have a 2008 and wanted to replace with a newer one, 2012. Is this possible? I have the 4.0 V6 with auto. Thanks

Find out which transmission you have and you should be able to get some better info. The FS5W71C transmission, for example, should fit all 2.4L 2wd Frontiers from 1998-2010.

as far as i know every v6 trans is the same. except for the input shaft and rear tail housing depending on 4x4 or 2wd.
i am unfamiliar with the 4cyl trans.


i have done 4 trans swaps and never had an issue, always used a 2wd trans to go to 4wd.
