Get your transmission rebuilt, it's worth it...and apparently (over)due for your truck.
If you bought it used it was probably abused.
That said, have you flushed your auto? changed the filter? Could be your valve body is shot too...
In any case, get it repaired before more damage occurs (except you've probably already done more damage by ignoring the problem)
