Going to build a build a custom underseat Crew cab box for this sub:

10" JL Audio 10w0v3-4. 300 watt rms. Going to power it with my Hifonics 320 wrms amp.

10WØv3-4 - Car Audio - Subwoofer Drivers - WØv3 - JL Audio

JL recommends a 1.125 ft^3 ported box and 0.65 ft^3 sealed box.

Ok so do yall think i can get good results with a ported box like this one: ...

...or should i just do a sealed box at their recommended 0.65 ft^3?

I would plan to build it downfiring of course thpugh. Slot Port in the same spot

Does anyone else have this sub or reviews on JL subs?

Input appreciated,

Thanks
Kurt

Sealed usually gives you a cleaner bass and ported gives you louder bass. Ported is generally good for if you have a trunk, which kind of makes it sealed. A sealed box would do better for our frontiers since we don't have a trunk to put the sub in. Also the cab is so small that you will get more than enough bass to never have to use anything close to max output, unless your having a block party and your the entertainment lol.

Also go with the JL sub, you can't go wrong with them if money isn't an issue. Here was my setup

Pickup truck cabs are not physically long enough for real low wavelengths to be heard. Not sure a Suburban is even long enough.

I'm a sealed guy cuz I like tight, punchy bass.

Go to DIYMobileaudio for more opinions than you can shake a stick at. Careful, you can get lost in there.

I was always a ported guy, even in a small S10 I had. Used to run (2) 12" JL Comps at one time, with the ports right between the seats; it would make you shirt blow in the wind. I blew up a lot of sealed box subs, they never had enough punch for me at that time.
