Yes I know this question has been asked many many many times, but I tried searching for it and could not find the answer specifically for my truck since it is a 2018 crewcab Frontier S model. Its not an SV, its the basic work truck with no powerlocks nor powerwindows. My truck is all stock with 265 70 R16 wheels/tires. I would like to know if I can fit 265 75 R16 on my Frontier S crew cab and if it would look just like a Desert Runner without the sticker.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you

I run 265/75/16 on my base-model 2013 2WD crew cab. There is room to spare.

Going up to the taller 265/75 from 265/70 requires a 'ballpark' correction of 3.5% distance traveled. So, 100 miles on your odometer is 'roughly' 103.5 miles traveled OR 300 miles traveled would 'roughly' be 310.5 miles traveled. Helpful for getting the best 'ballpark' fuel economy estimate when performing this equation longhand.
Surely others will disagree! lol
YMMV = get it? :)

I forgot to add that its a 2wd truck. Not sure if it will matter?
Why would it matter, our 4WDs are only 2WD for most daily driving.

It was my assumption that all frontiers are calibrated for the 265/75 size tire as on the Pro-4x. When I had 265/70 on my SV 4x4 the speedo was off according to GPS... When I went with the 265/75 the speedo was in sync with GPS.

bigger heavier tyres will decrease mpg's a bit but since it gears it up a bit it may be a wash. tyre weights vary by manufacturers as well. i went to a lesser size 245-75-16 on my 13 SV, they were cheaper + lighter + I like the less bulgy look that to me looks more correct!! to each his own

Are you talking speedo or odo?

My take is that odometers should be close to being right on, but that most vehicles over-report true velocity on the speedometer.

When you really take a look at rear diff ratios across the Frontier line with auto trans, you'll see that there are differences b/tw 4x2 vs 4x4 as well as KC vs CC. Then you'll see differences in KC 4x2 vs CC 4x2 as well as KC 4x4 vs CC 4x4.
The exception is P4X w/ 3.36:1 in both KC & CC.

W/o 'knowing' how all this is internally handled/computed and potentially corrected/accounted for on the dashboard, the main point of contention is CC SV 4x4 (both SWB & LWB) AND CC P4X having the same rear diff ratios (in both auto & manual trans respectively) while riding on shorter vs taller sized tires, respectively. This scenario captures many folks here at CF, otherwise there appears to be compensatory gearing differences to help account for tire size.
KC SV 4x4 shows compensatory gearing when compared to KC P4X.

Another mismatch occurs w/ 4x2 Desert Runners. KC DR is 2.94:1 while CC DR is 3.13:1. Both ride on P4X sized tires making for the tallest overall ratios in the KC/CC paradigms. Is this 6% difference left unaccounted for internally? Maybe/maybe not?

The same can be pointed out in the SLs. The 4x2 gets 3.13 while the 4x4 gets 3:36. Both ride on the same sized tires. This is a ~7% difference...and surely this is accounted for internally? Maybe/maybe not?

Does any of this add up to a hill of beans? :)

Speedo, one would think that if the speedo was correct the odo would follow. But I've been wrong before...

Every vehicle I've owned is going slower than the indicated speed according to those stationary LEO radar boxes that are set up to remind folks of their speed. My truck is in the 3 mph range = speedo says 30, LEO radar box says 27. SO, does this equate to actually doing 54 when my speedo says 60?? Yeah, inquiring minds...geez.

I doubt that Nissan calibrates for every gear ratio and tire size, but who knows. Mine is off too according to the speed signs. it says i'm going like 38 when my speedo says 40 too so i assume that it's really calibrated for the 75 series tires. But the speedometer may not be perfectly accurate, in some vehicles it isn't.
I like to compare the speedo with a GPS speedometer app, haven't done it with the fronty yet.

I had a 2012 SL with stock size tires and the speedometer was off by 2-3 MPH according to my GPS.
I now have a 2012 pro-4x and when I had stock size tires the speedometer was dead on according to the same GPS.

that leads me to believe that they are all calibrated for 265/75/16. i guess all of us non-pro4x guys need to upgrade to bigger tires! we're being robbed of miles counted on the odo!

Still sayin' that by design, all vehicles read fast on the speedometer...but should be close to accurate on odometer. Kind of a safety thing of sorts.

I'm 55. As a driving teen in late 70s, we all felt that cops would give us a 5 mph leeway. That has grown to 10 mph as far as current thinking goes. Please disagree if I'm off on this.

Not all read fast, I've owned around 12 cars and I can say at least half of them were accurate. as said earlier, the stock pro4x speedo is accurate.
as far as leeway, I'd say it completely depends on where you are and the mood the cop is in. Some cops don't care if you go 10 over, some will ticket you around here for 5 over.

I always went by the "go with the flow" rule.

A cop can give any leeway they want... but by law anything above posted is breaking the law. I'd say it just depends where you are, when you're driving, and what you're driving.
