BF GOODRICH all-terrain TA K/O
BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO

Bridgestone AT Revo 2
Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 2

any recommendations to either one & can i go a little wider on the stock wheels & suspension ?

265/75/16 is the biggest w/ no trimming as I understand it. One guy on here (cant remember his name) has 285/75/16 on stock wheels w/ no lift. I run the 285s w/ a 2.5" spacer and I didnt have to trim, only remove splash guards. It will only rub if mud dries on my plastic fender liner, so its close.

If you go off road on any kind of regular basis I would recommend BFGs, because I hear they are a better off road tire than the Revos. I have the Revos and love them. The most off road I get is gravel/dirt roads around the places that I go four wheeling. The Revos work well for me as a AT tire to use on a daily driver and have very good wet traction.

Without at least a leveling kit fitting 285/75R16's takes some work. This is a great size if you are leveling your frontier and keeping your stock wheels.

If you want to go wider without going taller you could run a 285/70R16. Nitto's new Trail Grappler is available in this size. This tire is approve for your stock 7.5" wide wheels. This tire would step up your off-road performance in a big way and would require no modifications to fit your frontier with stock suspension.

If you would like a recommendation for a tire, please tell us what you are looking for and what you want your tire to do. The tire that will be right for you is one that fits your wants and needs best.

I am in the same boat as the original poster...I drive mostly on road about 6k a year and most of that is freeway, but i do like to go splash in the mud and drive dirt trails, no rock crawling for me. I was considering either the

Kumho Road Venture MT KL71 265/75-16
Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac 265/75-16

for my stock rims but would like something a bit wider if it doesn't kill my freeway driving too bad. I have a 2 inch leveler in the front and wouldnt be opposed to getting adjustable shackles for the rear if necessary for fitment. any suggestions? or which of the two i picked would be best?

Upon delivery of my 2010 pro4x first thing I did was trade out the BFGs to the Dueler Revo 2, best mod ever, better in all performance situations than the BFGs, and through the end of april, there is a $100 mail in rebate from Bridgestone too!

Sounds like the DuraTrac will suite your needs best :)

I've got an '02 4x4 Frontier with stock wheels and suspension. The stock tires are 265/70R15 (I believe). I mostly drive highway with the occasional foray into the mud or on a trail. I like my stock rims, but how big a tire can I run on those? I've seen people say 32's, some with and some without a lift. Maybe something a little wider to give her a more agressive stance, but not necessarily taller. Suggestions?

go with the bridgestone revo 2. first, they balance out way better. second, they perform better all around. third, the bfg are the most over rated over marketed tire around. fourth, you get the mail in rebate. fifth, ive personally seen revos last for 70,000 miles. Im like you, i do mostly road driving but like to go offroad every once in a while. the revos are great tires. I live in colorado and don't even have to use four wheel drive in the snow. the reason you see more bfgs is because the revos are only sold online and at firestone and tires plus. you can get bfgs almost anywhere. go with the revos.

You can also get them at local Discount Tire and America's Tire locations. :)

In a very similar boat as the OP. Mines a tossup between the BFG A/T's and the BFG M/T KM2's. My heart says KM2's but my brain says A/T's.

I drive 30,000 miles a year so tread wear is a concern followed closely by on road performance/off-road performance (mud, snow, shlock the NE throws at you), then looks. I want a D load range tire but BFG in their infinite wisdom decided to abolish the D in many popular sizes. I swear by BFG and my truck will not wear other rubber.

Back to the OP, I would say go with the BFG A/T's. Not because I'm tied to BFG's hip but because I've had two sets and loved them. Never got stuck, looked good, decent on the highway and got 82,000+ out of them before I bought another set.
