i am replacing the head gasket on a 2008 nissan frontier 2.5l 4cyl. i can’t seem to get the timing chain cover off even tho it looks like all the screws are out.
I’ve seen people saying i have to take the oil pan out and i did but i can’t see anything underneath still connecting the timing chain cover.
If anybody knows what i’m over looking pls let me know. Thanks

Is it just RTV sealant gluing it in place, be very careful trying to separate it from the block. Someone hopefully appears soon with an accurate answer.

Welcome to Club Frontier. Sorry to hear that you are having trouble removing the timing chain cover on your QR25DE motor.

Do you have a copy of the Nissan Factory Service Manual? Attached are three weblinks where you can download a copy of the Nissan FSM. There should be a diagram in the Engine Mechanical Section that shows you the location & placement of all the timing chain cover bolts. Hope this helps.... Good Luck!!
