I'm at 97k right now. I've been considering going ahead and just getting it done now. There is a little bit of whine from my motor now, and I remember reading somewhere on here that this is a classic sign of a need to change the timing belt.

So, should I go ahead and just get a new water pump, timing belt, tensioner, and thermostat to throw in there while I have it apart?

I would assume that a new tensioner is a pretty standard thing to do with the belt, but what about the others? Do the thermostats and water pumps go out frequently on these?

I'm just asking because mudpunishers write up does all of this while it's apart.

just do the pump when you do the belt, its pretty inexpensive and is good preventative maintenance.

It might be a good idea to reseal the t-stat housing where it attaches to the block. This is a real bugger to seal from scratch. Relatively easy when you're doing the belt. You'll probably need a new t-stat bypass hose if you do this.
