I got a volant CAI its past due for ethier cleaning the filter or replacing it.

i saw where people where changing them out but i cant remember what they where switching them to so if anybody knows or has any idea i would appreciate it

I've got the AEM dryflow on my Volant, it's kind of a ***** to clean though.

Most use the AEM dry flow or the Amsoil filter. A filter sock (prefilter) is a good option too if you offroad or see a lot of dust. It may also be semi-water proof so it could be a good upgrade in wet areas.
