Living in Alberta gave me 3 rock chips on the rear fender on a week old truck. Been thinking of a cheaper way to protect my rear fenders in the mean time (no funds for a slider yet) i have been seeing a lot rock chips in this forum on rear fender since the rocks are coming from the front i will put a soft splash guard from canadian tire i will be screwing it together with the existing splash guard and should look something like this

it will be a soft rubber to be mounted lower than the existing one.

what do you guys think? do it or dont? i am not sure if it would look stupid or not

Thanks for the input

If you do it, do it on both front and rear mud flaps. Just make sure you match the width and make it look semi factory. If done correct it should look fine but if it is done wrong, it will look fuked up and stupid.

You can also invest in the 3m clear shield pieces and make a larger patch for infront of the rear wheel and possible add another piece to the lower rocker panel since that will also get chips.

i've been thinking alot about getting some soft splash guards and completely junking the hard ones. i thought about doing it in the past but this last time i went wheeling when i watched at one time every flap fold over and get bent up and cracked. i don't want to take mine off permanently because of rock chips and really don't want to take them off everytime i go wheeling then try and remember to put them back on before i leave the park so a soft guard would be ideal. i just haven't seen anyone do it so i don't know what it will look like so i'm just waiting for my guards to rip off completely. so you should do it and take lots of pics

There are no pre-cut ones from 3m but they do sell sheets/rolls that you can cut yourself. This is the route that I would suggest. If they are pre-cut then you have to make sure you are perfect on your placement or else it will be off.
