Greetings from Longview Texas, land of sudden lane changes and no turn signals.
Just over a year ago, new truck fever got to the boiling point and I began to shop around. I've been driving F-150's since 1978, so the local Ford dealer was my first stop. I am somewhat vertically challenged and the tall sides and high stance of the new trucks made the bed all but inaccessible to me without a step ladder. With my youngest about to go off to college, it made sense to downsize to a smaller pickup anyway. The Ranger however was too small and hasn't been updated in more than a decade, so I looked over the competition. The Frontier won me over, so I sold my 1995 F150 to my nephew and made my purchase, a brick red 2009 King Cab SE-V6 with 2wd and automatic trans. I'm not much into modding, so it is totally stock, performing well as a commuter car during the week and towing a trailer with a tractor/bush hog combo on it on the weekends. Since it only seats two adults, I call it my mid-life sports car.
