For those of you who wanted to know about a "Mini-Lift" from Prerunner Greg (same maker of the big brother titan leveling kits) I must say that all of the parts in the kit are crafted with care and all of the parts came packaged very well so as not to get damaged in transit. Both the front spacers and rear blocks are made of aluminum and precision cnc'd. This kit is so complete it even came with cotter pins. The instructions are very clear (the instructions did say they were for the titan but they worked step by step just fine for the frontier as well) and direct for the front however there is no insturctions for the rear. ( I dont imagine if you are going to try this at home then you would need instructions for the rear but for those that have not worked on cars before it might be useful.)
So what's in the box
1. A pair of front aluminum front spacers
2. A pair of rear aluminum blocks
3. A set of U-Bolts
4. A Pair of new Bump-stops
5. A the necessary hardware to put the kit in (except a 13/32 drill bit which is needed for the new bump-stops.)
6. Two new cotter pins

I will shoot some pics later today. You should def. install the kit now. I am suprised that you can wait. I love the kit it makes it look so much better. Now when I pull up next to the new taco I am taller so it gives me the intimidator feeling over the tacoma.

Stormrider q's

Stormrider"I'm all sorts of jealous now. I wish mine was here.

My kit has already been ordered and I am eagerly awaiting.

Are you doing the install yourself Blue?"

I ordered my kit last week on wed 9/14/05 and got it on friday 9/23/05. That night I took the pics of the kit and then installed the front part of it. Then on sat 9/24/05 I installed the rear and took it to the alignment shop. The best part was that it was able to be aligned to factory specs and there will be no premature tire wear just as greg said ( not that I doubted you greg). For the rear of the kit it is pretty easy just make sure that you disconnect the brake lines from the brackets and the abs wires from the brackets and the rear locker plugs and abls plugs if you have them. If you need help with what I am talking about then let me know I can send you some pics or if you are local I can come and help you out. I will post some pics as soon as I take them. I will be going to the dealer to take some pics with the tape measure of the stock wheel-fender clearance and the prg kit clearance. Good luck with the kit and hope all works out for you.

I ordered mine on 13 Sept. but it has to make the trip cross country. I think PRG is in Cali.

Blue, what kind of time frame am I looking at here? I'm by no means a mechanic but I do know my way around some tools. I figure about 3-4 hours for front and back. Sound about right?

Time Frame

stormrider:
I did the fronts in about 1 hr and the rears in about 1hr but I am an experienced mechanic so I would guess that about 3-4 would be right but try not to think of how long you spending on putting the kit in just make sure that everything is done right and take your time on double check you torq's and that you have tightened everything up good. I am going down to nissan today to get the torque specs for the rear u bolts and the front sway bar endlinks so that I can torque them up properly. Also I am planning on putting some loctie blue (the lightest duty loctite) on the u bolt threads because the u-bolt nuts only thread on about 3/4 of the way (since the nuts are longer that the stock nuts this is ok but I just want to be safe about the procedure dont want those bolts to come off). If you take about half a day and make sure that you have all the proper tools you should be fine. Also it does help to have an extra hand so if you have a friend that can help you with the install I would highly recommend it. All he/she would have to do is control the jack up/down when you have it under the front control arms and the rear alxe. O yeah ONE MAJOR TIPS IS IN THE INSTRUCTIONS THAT GREG GIVES YOU IN THE BOX HE SAYS TO LOOSEN THE NUT FOR THE BALL JOINT ON THE UPPER CONTROL ARM AND LOOSEN IT ALL THE WAY DOWN BUT DONT TAKE IT OFF AND THEN USE A 4LB HAMMER AND HIT THE NUT OF THE UPPER BALL JOINT CAREFUL NOT TO DAMAGE THE THREADS OF THE BALL JOINT UNTIL THE CONTROL ARM COMES LOOSE FROM THE BALL JOINT SEAT. I HIGHLY RECCOMEND NOT TO DO THIS FOR IT IS REALLY EASY TO DAMAGE THE THREADS, JUST GO DOWN TO THE LOCAL PARTS STORE AND BUY BALL JOINT SEPERATOR TOOL (NOT THE PICKLE FORK LOOKING ONE) THE ONE THAT ATTACHES AROUND THE OUTSIDE OF THE CONTROL ARM AND THEN PUSHED THE BALL JOINT UP BY TIGHTENING THE THREADED ROD. I WILL GO AND TAKE A PIC OF THE THE TOOL I AM TALKING ABOUT. THEY ARE FAIRLY INEXPENSIVE AND WORK GREAT NEVER DAMAGE THE THREADS. This is the only thing that I did not per the instructions. If you need anything else let me know. O BTW GO BOSTON :D

My Nismo With the Prg Kit Pics

Here are the pic of my truck with the prg kit, the stock measurements are from a dealership se 4x4 so notice the diff in color and also that my tires would normally have been closer in fender gap becuase of the bigger size. Hopefully I can get some stock nismo measurements from a local dealer later. Hope you all like the pics and that it encourages you to buy the PRG Kit you will not be disapointed.

Looks sweet Blue.

Figures I just got home from work and the delivery man had comeby earlier to drop off my new toy. Instead of leaving the package he just left a little sticky and says he'll return tomorrow between 10a-2p to reattempt delivery. No one is ever home during that time at my house...we're both out trying to make some money.

Guess I'll just sign the sticky and hopefully he'll leave it for me tomorrow. Sometimes he'll leave the packages and other times he won't (even when no signature is req'd).

Oh and thanks for the tip on the ball joint seperator...I know exactly what you're talking about.

thanks

thunder thats great that you have the same truck and everything. Ha ha. Thanks for the compliment on my truck when you get yours let me know. I guarantee you will love it, I do.
Storm. You must have been so disappointed that he didn't leave it for you instead you just saw the note on the door. I hear you on the money thing I gotta go earn some more as well. Hopefully I have enough to keep up with the lastest and greatest. Hopefully in the near future we can help update this forum with many parts reviews and the likes so that we can get more people to join and interested in the best truck of the year by consumers choice, not the motor trend truck of the year. I will be looking forward to see some pics and hear about your install and your opinion of the kit.
