Installed... I knew going into this one, it would be more for fun. I would say it was alot like after getting the exhaust done, after exhaust it was one notch of improved overall, after cai - it was one notch improved overall, so all in all both combined I now have 2 Notches over all improved :)

-for the one used on first generation frontiers, there is no power core or whatever the one is called that is lifetime something or another...

Looks awesome! I really want to get one but with my body lift it's probably highly unlikely. I could always cut and bend my own intake pipe. Wouldn't look anywhere as clean as yours. Great work!

iv got the volant with the 3in body lift.. and no, its not pretty.. i used the intake pipe that came with it and it was a PITA. its barely on there but it is.. its got a wicked angle and its super hard to get the air filter out of the box to clean it and such. but the point is, its possible.

Nice bro, glad your up and feeling better and got it installed.
Curious if you removed the resonator inside the front fender?
Any SOP diffrence with it installed now?
Looks good in there, looks like it flows more air over the stock unit.

So after some use on it... I get the growl at higher rpms, maybe it's just me but the exhaust sounds a little loader or stronger. I drive my rig like I stole it :) - so I was Not looking to get mpg gains, just some more fun outta it. Take off and under 60 or so seems stonger, but im not sure what the right words are here for the boost or what ever it is called when you stomp on it and it kicks up, but that seems harder to get going. 70 and up are difficult to tell, at first I thought I lost some power in that area, but it's been crazy windy this way, so I hope that is all that is. $200.00 bucks for some more fun...:)

i need a volant, my snorks been empty without one :(

This looks awesome... I'm gonna be in the market for a CAI soon. Anyone have others to compare it too? I've thought about getting a snorkel even, they look cool, and that pulls in cold air as well.
hey man, give me a txt later on the SAS

Volant CAI FTW. Piece of cake. Highway cruising load on the engine has been reduced by aprox. 10 percent. But my stock box and silencer had mud in it... Definitely worth the money and the sound when coupled with duals is very nice. I have a cracked passenger exhaust manifold so the closed box was a no-brainer

I installed mine about 3 weeks ago and I have noticed a gain in performance. When im trying to watch my mpgs I get it to run at 200-400 less RPMs than stock, and when im going heavy on the highway I get about 500 less RPMs. I am talking about going the same speed as with stock to volant. The growl is great, but isn't noticed unless you are running 2300 RPMs or more and it sounds from the intake (duh). I had stock exhaust and now I have a modified exhaust with a flowmaster 40 series, and the growl sounds like only in the exhaust now. Overall satisfied with it, but Airbox mod did about the same minus the sound and about 50 RPMs at stated speeds.
