So I just got my engine skid from Remy . Man is this thing beefy. Nice, clean bends and welds. I'll try to get some pics up. Thanks Remy! Well worth the wait

I managed to finally find some time to get this baby installed today. Wasn't too bad except for one of the middle bolts that you bolt up first in order to keep the skid in place gave me some issues. Apparently there is a threaded nut inside the frame that is spot welded or something. Well, this nut just broke loose while I had the bolt halfway threaded on. Now I can't tighten it up and I can't get it out. Any thoughts or ideas on what to do here?

can you cut the head of the bolt off with a dremel tool or something? Of course this will leave the "inside" piece rattling around inside the frame.

Is there any kind of access hole nearby? I had the same thing happen when I was installing my rad skid the first time. I ended up fishing a bolt thru the frame and down the hole so that the nut is on the outside. For now I haven't had any problems tightening the nut... knocks wood.

I do believe there's a hole right next to it. Don't think I could get a wrench in the frame to keep it from turning though. May have to just cut the bolt and leave it. There would still be 7 other bolts holding it up.

I used a step drill bit to make a hole by the bolt hole.

Next time run a tab in the hole and a die on the bolt to clean the threads.
