Tampa/St. Pete members: Need your help

As posted in my "Is it a good deal?" thread yesterday, I'm looking at an '07 LE that's at a dealership in Palm Harbor. I think we've established that if it is as advertised, it's a good deal.

I've been searching for a while for the right truck, and this one may be it.

Problem is, I'm 4 hours south and east of the dealership, so all I've seen of this vehicle is the pics the dealer posted. Dubie suggested I ask for help from a member in the area. So that's what I'm doing.

Anyone out there who can run by, have a look, and give me an unvarnished opinion?

Thanks. I appreciate it.
I'll give you another bump. Hopefully the guy with the Back Nismo is that area will help out. I think his name is (S8R.....) sp?
I have a friend in Riverview that might help. I sent him a email about it. Keep an eye on your private message.

Spec-V, the truck you posted is the one I'm looking at. It would be great if you could have a look for me.

Nice offer you're making. The vin number is on auto trader and since you work at a nissan dealer can you get the service dept. to check it's repair history? They will know if it has had the timing issue and or repair by now.

No problem bro, Ill have the information posted sometime late thursday.. Ill try and ask about the repair history, i remember that when I bought my 03 sentra all they could see was that it was in every 3-4k miles and we figured it was oil change due to it being a different dealership then the work was done at. But ill ask around.

Cool, man. I can't thank you enough. Looking forward to seeing those pics and hearing more about the truck.

Hey bro, sorry to break the bad news but when I stopped by i didnt see the truck and when I spoke to a salesman he said it just sold last night (wednesday). Sorry :crikey:
That sucks, but I gues it wasn't meant to be.
I bet he now finds an even better one and closer to home.
I would have been curious to have known it's history anyway.
It was nice of you to go look for him.

Steve - if you find something else in my area that peaks your intrests let me know. Im usually around the tampa/clearwater dealerships often.
Thanks, Brother. I snoozed, but only because I'm working on helping Nissan sell a whole lot more. Who needs a sunroof and leather, anyway?

I really appreciate your help, and that of everyone who pitched in on this effort. And thanks for the offer to help further.

There is, in fact, one that's closer to home. A year older, about 7k more in miles, fewer bells and whistles, but almost $2k less. But it's CPO, I can lay hands on it, and I can bring it to my own mechanic. I'm going to run by and check it out this weekend. I'll fill you guys in on what I find.

Cheers.
You know, when I created this thread, I thought to myself: I'm broadcasting a beautiful truck, at a great price that I've already negotiated. Wonder if someone will see it and head over there and snake me.

Keep an eye out for someone posting a thread from Tampa with the headline, "My new truck!"
Lol, true true. I saw this when I was getting parts at my local nissan dealership:

2007 Used Nissan Frontier LE at Wesley Chapel Nissan, FL, IID 5043427

Didnt know if that was something that we were looking at, so i figured I would post it up.
Thanks for keeping up the search. That LE has a bit more miles on it than I'm looking for.

Oh, and that one I told you about at the dealership near my house? They sold it.
Wow. Sounds like used Frontiers are getting scooped up pretty quick. Thats good news for us Frontier owners who worry about resale when its time to let them go.

To OP, good luck in your search. Patience is key, there is the right truck out there for the right price. Have you considered looking at new? With rebates and incentives you can sometimes do better vs new.
OO:

Yes, they seem to fly once they hit a key price point. Unfortunately, I've been working late days on another Nissan commercial, so I can't get to the dealerships before the weekend.

I've looked at new. We can get them at just over invoice, then subtract the incentives, which makes it pretty attractive. But even then, it's still a bit out of my range. I'd love a new Pro4X, but may have to settle for a used LE or NISMO. Still, it's not quite "settling" if you think about it.

I'm sure the right one will turn up. I search every day, and have others looking for me too.

You all have been really helpful and I appreciate being welcomed so quickly into the community. Now all I have to do is get the truck -- the real price of admission.

Cheers,
Steve
