I just got word from Chris Gammage at the BLM that they will be having a cleanup on November 6, 2010. I realize that this is six months out, but I wanted to get the word out as soon as I could (in hopes for more volunteers). I'll post up more information, as I get it.

This will be a great opportunity to meet a bunch of like-minded 4x4 enthusiasts, to see some really well-built rigs, and to help keep our trails Clean and OPEN. I hope to see you there!

Just wanted to give a quick update: Chris @ the BLM was able to borrow a 40 yd rolloff dumpster from the County. The one condition is that they want someone to camp out so that no one shoots it up and/or lights it on fire. With this in mind, I'll be camping out at Table Mesa on Friday, Nov 5th.

In the meantime, I need your help in getting the word out to as many people as possible about this cleanup. If you are on other boards (dirtbikes, ATVs, UTVs, sand rails, etc.) please post up on those sites. Thanks for your help! If all the clubs work together, we can make a difference at Table Mesa.

Jonnytoast, sure come on out and camp with us on Friday. Personally, I won't be doing any wheeling on Friday night, but there will be others in our group that will. The folks from AZFJ wheel TM almost every Friday night, so they'll probably be around, as well.

This event is shaping up to be a good size cleanup. There are many different 4x4 clubs that will be there: AZXC, AZVJC, AZFJ, Arizona K5 Blazers, TTORA, Zuks of AZ, Higher Ground 4x4, alloffroadaz, and several more clubs. There will also be several ATV/UTV clubs, a few dirtbike clubs, a mountain bike club (MBAA), a HAM radio club (4x4HAM.com), and even a radio-controlled car club (RCCrawlers.com). I have also posted up on several local hunting/shooting websites as well.

The BLM will be there, as will their volunteer group called the OHV Ambassadors. The Arizona Xterra Club has donated 10 boxes of the heavy-duty contractor’s trashbags, and M&I bank has donated a bunch of cases of bottled water. The folks from TreadyLightly! have donated some swag for the giveaway at the end of the cleanup, and one of their master Tread Trainers will be on hand as well. Trasharoo has donated one of their really cool offroad garbage bag holders. Over the next few weeks, I will be working with additional local companies to get more donations for the giveaway.

I am talking with the Chris @ the BLM to get the lunch coordinated (they are no longer allowed to buy food for cleanups, but they have some partner organizations that should be able to step up and buy the food). I am also getting a flyer made up to be distributed to all interested parties.

If you have a business, and would like to donate to the cleanup (we could use gloves, food/snacks, and giveaway items), please PM me here or <email removed>. I'm really excited about this cleanup, and I know that we can make a really good impact out at Table Mesa. Thanks for your support, and I look forward to seeing you all there.

A great cause and one that needs to be seen by those who make the laws. The bureaucrats need to know we can use public land responsibly. We don't need any more BLM closures due to people being stupid off road.

I challenge everybody to help clean up the area around you when you venture off road, even if that is not your reason for going.

GREAT news! Too bad I didn't see this until today or I would have headed out to help. I do this kind of thing in the marinas here at Lake Mead, NV (SCUBA cleanups) and it's a blast and is a great cause.
