I asked Honda if their 0w-20 was synthetic...and was told no. Doesn't mean it was the truth. I totally hear ya on the 0w argument. I'll ask them again.
I used to buy Mobil 1 at Costco when they had a "coupon", but find Wal Mart (5 qt. jugs) to be less expensive. Mobil 1 has rebates on their website (Google Mobil 1 rebate) about twice a year (none active now), usually for $12 off 5 quarts. It's fun to be frugal. My Frontier got the same treatment and ran perfectly until the day it was totaled with 53000 miles. If you are planning on using Mobil 1, keep an eye on the Costco flyer as they often have 6 packs on sale for $10 off. This makes the price almost 50% cheaper than auto parts stores. I buy them 2 at a time when they are on sale.
Good to know! Wal Mart is so far from me that the additional discount is not worth the effort or gas. I also prefer the quart size as it is easier to handle and since I use a slightly larger filter, buying 6 packs allows me to add the 5 1/2 quarts much easier.I used to buy Mobil 1 at Costco when they had a "coupon", but find Wal Mart (5 qt. jugs) to be less expensive. You won't get the rebate if you buy from Amazon (per the instructions on the rebate site). Although Wal-Mart isn't listed, it has worked successfully for many people on many occasions before. Note that the site lists "some" participating retailers. I just bought a 5 quart jug at Walmart for $25.47 (plus tax).I didn't see Amazon or Walmart listed on the rebate "location" list. Anyone get it anyway?
Found this last night and purchased along with the Mobil filter too...5 quart jug of M1 5W30 Extended Performance is available on Amazon for $25.47, free shipping if you have Prime.
