Does anybody know how much does a stock Pro4x suspension travel in the front and rear. I heard its 6" in the front and rear stock. Is that true? so if I lift the rear of the truck by 2" I would have to replace the shocks with enough travel for 8" correct? The same with the front, but since I would have to switch to a coilover in the front , what spring rate should I use??:comphead:

You have a Gen1 or Gen2? You don't have anything signature.

On a Gen2
Stock front suspension travel is 6"
With coilovers and after-market control arms you get 8 to 9".
With a Titan Swap you get 11 to 12"

Assuming you have a second generation Frontier...being you asked about a PRO4x

Front = 6"
Rear= 11"

If you want better street manners and do more crawling...IE looking for flex and a softer ride, you would want to go with a 500-550lb spring rate. If you want more stability and do more high speed type offroading you would want a 600-650lb spring rate in the front.

If you lift the rear 3" or more you will want/need to upgrade the rear shocks. There are a variety of options as far as performance suspension upgrades, if you provide more information as far as what the truck is used for and the type of performance you are looking for I can provide some more detailed advice.

Cause I am using a shrock bumper in the front I plan on using the saw coilover in the front from the titan which is good for a titan with 0-3 " of lift or the frontier with 4-6" of lift in the front it has a 625 spring so that should be ok . and as far as the rear I am gonna use a SAW piggy back from the titan wich should be good for 10" of travel. Being stock is 6" and I am lifted 4 I don't see that being a problem . The SAW coilovers and piggybacks are valved the same anyway. What do you think?

with your cv's you wont get 4-6" of suspension lift. a 4x2 can get a 4" spindle lift on the 3" of maxing out the c/o. A Drop bracket will get you 6" but no added travel

i had 7" of lift between the titan swap and cst spindle at one point.. the most lift you'll get from a 4x4 is about 4" with a titan swap and a stiffer spring for the bumper without a carrier crop bracket lift too.

there is no possible way to get 6" of lift from just a coilover..... especially a 4x4.

by the way, if ur buying the coilovers used.... make sure u have them valved for a 4x4. Theres a custom "internal droop stop" that makes the difference between a 2wd coilover and a 4wd.

sounds right, have you ever fully flexed your rear stock. the up side tucks up to the rim and the down side has over a foot between the tire and fender. i was pretty impressed when i first found a good gravel pile to drive up and really flex my rear end and
