Thanks for the heads up! I have a 2010, and was wondering if anyone has gotten a letter? does anybody know the scope of the recall? Is it a certain range of VIN's or something? Does anyone know what that range is?

Dunno how many Frontiers, but the guy in the other thread called and his was included. The article said 48700 vehicles, but it included armadas, pathfinders, xterras etc. It was just announced so no letters yet I'm guessing?

Consequence:
IF THE COLLAR WELD SEPARATES, THE VEHICLE HANDLING WILL DETERIORATE, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A VEHICLE CRASH.
Remedy:

It is not an official recall yet... as of yesterday, I went to 2 different sealers in the San Diego area and none had even heard yet. Per the articles anouncements should start in June. Per the posted information it looks like mine with a manufacture date of 10/09 is not included.

I've only had my truck not quite a month and I called Friday and was told by the service dept. that my vehicle wasn't involved. I'm guessing it was made after they discovered the problem.

Went to the dealer today for the recall. They inspected the truck and returned it. They said "we need to order new control arms and a few othe parts. We will give you a call when the parts arrive and to set up a time and date to swap them out. You will need to leave your truck here for a few hours because we also need to re-align the truck". I said "thank you and will be waiting for the call".

So that is an update that I can give you guys for now.

Open your driver's side door. Look on the door frame towards the bottom of the seat; should be two or three stickers. One has tire info and one of the others has your manufacture date. Mine was built in August 2009.

Seems pretty official to me...being on the NHTSA website and all...

My dealer showed me his notification. He took my truck in on the spot to check for if my parts were in the batch in question.

LOL.. Yes, I know that -- I posted above that the date on mine is 11/09. The question was whether the specific day of the month is anywhere on the vehicle. I'll just wait and see if I get a notice.. I do have some things I need to have the dealer take a look at, along with doing a tire rotation at 7500 miles, so I'm trying to keep the visits to a minimum.. If it turns out mine is one of the recalled ones, I'll hold off.
