Added a tailgate helper that was designed for a second gen Frontier. Had to cut the lower mounting bracket and smash the cable up a bit. Once I got it on the tailgate would eject itself out of the hinge because the hinge bushings are completely shot. The rear bumper also isn't aligned right... truck's been hit sometime in its past.

Replaced a pulley and immediately toasted it by installing it wrong. Whoops.

Also, if your parking brake light mysteriously comes on, make sure your parking brake sensor hasn't rotated up and out of contact with the parking brake pedal. Taking the switch off is a huge pain and you can simply rotate the switch back into position.

Where’d you get the hood shock from? I might have to do the same with my tailgate, cool build bro 🙌🏽

It won't pop out of the hinge if installed on the passenger side.
But I installed two EZ Downs and also had to add the hose clamp on the driver side.

The EZ Down is supposed to be on the inside and the cable on the outside.

These hood struts don't require modification. Just need to relocate the rubber fender / hood bumper.

$130 for hood struts is completely disqualifying.

Issue: coolant leak somewhere in the valley. This is heartbreaking because I was just in there and replaced all the hoses/gaskets when doing the supercharger swap.

Trying to talk myself into paying somebody else to fix it. Thankfully I picked up 1999 528i wagon to daily drive as a fuel economy solution, so I can afford to let the truck sit.

What do y'all think? Pay somebody to fix it or wait the 2-3 months it'll take me to get motivation?

I've convinced myself that my cats have been clogged the whole time I've owned my truck. Ordered some Walker B pipes from Summit before they're gone forever. Looks like everything being stocked has a cat and costs 300+ dollars per side.

A little halfway through the install. Need to spot weld the back of a stud to keep it from spinning. Snapped two bolts and need two more to mount the rear section of the Walker to the stocker.

Fitment is dead on. I'll probably have to drop the transmission crossmember to get the driver's side pipe out. I read in another thread that these pipes were stock on the early model trucks so they may be more available than I thought.

Got both pipes on today. Had to cut the driver's side pipe to wiggle it out so I don't know if I can recommend this mod to others since I can't put it back to stock.

It sounds.... Not better. There's a spot of rasp around 2500-3000rpm that I will likely hate forever. I do think it has more low end torque though.
