I'm looking to install a sub-woofer under the rear seat in my '05 Crew cab.
Having the local car stereo shop build one for me is a bit pricey.
Has anyone done this yet to their truck? Is there a pre-fab box that you can buy that mounts under the rear seats?

Any help is appreciated...

Thanks.

i love subbox.net, they are a good company, i bought my subbox for my frontier from them very nice. but i find it more fun to make your own. buy some MDF wood fab it up, throw some fiberglass on it, nice and custom and still pretty cheap. a "handy" guy could easily do it.

I just ordered the under seat sub-box from Super Crew Sound yesterday. I believe that thery are in Wisconsin, so I'll probably be a while before I see it (it's coming UPS ground). I just had my Alpine (model 9833) deck installed last week. It's amazing how much of a difference just adding a nice deck can make! I
Once I get the sub box, I'll be putting a 10" Arc Audio sub in it. I still have the alpine sub amp from my previous vehicle, so I'll be using that to power the sub. The deck and the amp are hardly a year old.
I still have a sweet 12" Image Dynamics subwoofer in a standard cube shaped Sub Zero box. No chance of it fitting under the seat in my Frontier....so it'll probably end up on Craigslist, since the wife doesn't want it in her Sienna.
Once I get all the goods installed, I'll post some pics.
I'm having all the work done by Kustom Kar Audio (their spelling, not mine) in Santa Rosa, Ca. Having a buddy who owns a stereo shop is a great perk!
If any of you watch Overhaulin'...there is an episode coming up where they build a car at the SEMA auto show. Kustom Kar was chosen as the crew to do the audio on that car...kinda cool (even though you work for free!)

Which Sub to use?

Hey, I see lots posted on the subenclosure, but which sub are you guys using? I am getting the under the backseat enclosure with the 5.5 inch mounting depth. That kind of limits the choice of subs out there. I was looking at the new Audiobahn 10" AW1000V. It looks to be the best in the "fit" category as far as I can tell. What are you guys coming up with?

I have a quick question. Most of the sub boxes I've seen on here go under the passanger side. Is there something under the driver's side (rear) seat that will prevent you from putting a box in there? I don't have my truck yet  thats why I'm asking. should get it in 2-3 weeks :D

The passenger side is the 60% side of the 60/40 split rear seat, so biolding a box to fit under the biggers seat gives you move cubic airspace in your sub box (that's my not-so educated guess).
Under both seats are simple plastic storage trays, which will end up getting removed in order to make room for the box.
For the record, I think that the box that I'm getting spans both seats, but I m not positive on that.

Have fun with that truck...once you get it! :D

Cheers!
