So... I went to pull the rear wheel off my fiance's mazda 3 and it wouldn't go anywhere. I had it jacked off the floor. I had all the bolts undone. But I couldnt pull that wheel off for the life of me. Ive never seen anything so weird. Has anyone had this happen before? Any suggestions for getting the suckers off?

kick the hell out of it. sometimes the wheels can become rusted to the hub. even if its an aluminum wheel to a steel hub. as long as everything is disconnected from what ever holds it on, its just seized.

what they said. You may have to seriously donkey kick the 5hit out of it, but it will eventlly come. Some take more than others. Carefull you dont kick it so hard it falls off whatever you have it supported on.

Dissimilar metals attack each other and corrode. Steel hub, aluminum rim.
I had it on a hardbody, spray WD-40 or other penetrating lube on the hub put all the lugs backs on but slightly loose. Put it on the ground and roll forward and backward and hit the brakes hard. It will let go but with the lugs there nothing will break. All kicking will do is hurt your feet or knock the car off a jack.

When you finally get it off, smear a light coating of anti-seize on the mating surface of the hub or wheel so that you aren't hostage to the same thing at a later date. You may find that other wheels are corroded in place too. You're blessed to have found this problem in your driveway and not on a highway with a flat tire. Good luck!

Try hitting it really hard or kicking it. Sometimes they get stuck. Just be careful the wheel/tire combo doesn't come off unexpectedly and hurt you or someone nearby.

Ok, sorry, I just couldn't resist. Why shouldn't post #11 say the same thing the other 10 posts did?

I finally got the stupid things off. Soaked them in wd40 on the hub, loosened the bolts, backed up real fast and slammed on the brakes, pulled back in the driveway and finally kicked the sucker off leaving 2 bolts attached. The next pain in my butt was their stupid brake system. Its ridicolous how hard it is to compress their piston which needs to be pushed and spun to fit new pads.

Oh well.... I got the pads done. Now only a few more repairs before I will be ready to sell and get the IS300.
