So I thought I would mod my stock air box, I'm not sure it will help with performance or MPG but I knew it could not hurt either, I dont offroad this rig so water crossing is not a concren, Im just hoping for a little more MPG  if possible.

I had some old intake parts from my current stable (Mazda 6, Honda Van) I found a 90 elbow that would work for this mod (idea from Volant)
1. cut hole in stock air bx (bottom Left) inserted elbow
2. Cut 2 3/4 hole in plastic filler (left of the Radiator)
3. Used siliconized air ducting to connect the two

Stock air Bx

New elbow installed

Hose connected to elbow then to opening next to Rad

Hard to see this but, this is the view from the front.

I will not see any gains from this till I get a K&N or other free flowing air fliter are my thougts.

In your picture #2 I see you still have the extended intake tube in the box. You need to cut it flush to the inside wall of the stock intake.

Wirenut! Thanks for the tip, are you running a K&N fliter?
