I hate the plastic feel of the steering wheel in my mid-level Fronquator. Has anyone swapped in a leather-wrapped version from a higher-end trim? My next step is to buy a wheelskin and stitch it on, but I'd rather just have an OEM wheel.

Looking at courtesyparts, there are 29 different versions of the steering wheel - does anyone know if there are actual differences inside the wheel?

I found a leather OEM steering wheel on ebay for 40.00 . Mounting should be the same regardless of model. Did you narrow down your search to just your specific year and model? 29 versions seems high.
